I tried to order a case of UFC cards from this place. I called prior to placing the order and said the billing and shipping address will be different. They approved it and I placed the order. I then get a call from them 2 hours later saying that their Credit Card Company said it was a fraudulent transaction. So I called my bank and asked about it. They said the transaction was approved and returned by the merchant. After calling Matt out on this he said that the only way they will do the transaction is through Zelle. What business takes Zelle as a payment method when my mastercard was approved. After saying that was not possible and offering to take a picture of my ID or do anything to prove that the card being used was mine, Matt still insisted I use Zelle. I will NEVER use zelle for a business. There was nothing wrong on my end, I offered all of the proof necessary and they still did not want to accept my Mastercard. 0/5
REPSONSE Edit: I offered all proof necessary to complete the transaction and have it shipped to the same address as billing information. I was still met with, "I will only take payment through Zelle for this item." I was left with a very poor experience making me feel like I did something wrong by trying to buy your product. I can send all proof necessary to make this deal happen with my...
Read moreBefore you go here you need to understand a couple things. *The owners do not buy/sell/trade single cards. They have no inventory of personally owned cards. What they do have are showcases that are rented out to local collectors who primarily sell higher end single cards. *The owners only sell unopened boxes and cases at just slightly better than market prices. *You will not find single cards here in flip through boxes. (Set builders, you're out of luck) *You will not find older cards. By older I mean anything older than like 2010. (Vintage and wax collectors, you're out of luck) *Sport breakdown here is like 45% baseball, 25% football, 20% basketball, 7% hockey, 3% soccer/wrestling. *service is spotty at best and you almost feel guilty sometimes asking for assistance. *they have some memorabilia, but not a lot.
Their true high point here is selling preorders on soon to be released hobby cases at notably cheaper prices. Even though I've never done it personally it is better than the hype of the release driving the price of the cases/boxes up. A fair amount of locals go this route as it does bring the average cost of a box down.
I used to really like coming here, but since the main theme here is buying expensive boxes and cases, it's just not...
Read moreBy far my favorite card shop. It's not super convenient for me to get to, though when I'm looking to buy a hobby box or something else expensive, I will make the trek, driving past 3-4 other card shops to get there. They have by far the best pricing. I have messaged them on IG and FB and they always respond quickly. One time a guy even knocked some money off of a hobby box when we chatted via IG. When I got to the store an employee I talked to was standing firm on the listed price, then a guy came out from the back and honored the price he quoted me in our chat. They will work with you. I see some people complaining that they don't buy a lot of the cards that you might pull out of some wax you purchased there. Shops are in no way obligated to buy anything from you. They buy what and when they want. This shop has turned down some stuff I brought in to sell. No big deal. Would you buy something that you don't want? Lol. Also, they are one of the only shops in the area that keep their website up to date with the sealed wax they have in stock. So you don't have to waste your time going in there only for them to not have what you're looking for. Highly recommend Chicagoland...
