Update: I went to Kendall Ace Hardware in St. Paul, two days later, and they were able to cut 20 pieces, 10 pieces more than what I had asked for at this Ace Hardware for in just 15 minutes, no issue whatsoever. Never am I going to be returning here. I'm going to stick with Kendall Ace Hardware in St. Paul.
Went in to get some pieces of glass cut. I just got off work, so I quickly ran there, as this was the closes Ace to me that was still opened. I got there 20 mintues before close, with no customers in the store, and 3 employees in the front, and the manager counting down a register. I asked, can they still cut some glasses for me to a certain sizes. The manager asked how many and I said multiple pieces. He said OK. Once an employee got me the estimate and I told him, I would like 10 pieces. The Manager stated that he would no longer cut the pieces for me because it was late. I've had pieces of glasses cut for me before, and it takes some time, but not that long. I've also been to Ace Hardware several times, and they've also pride themselves on customer service and treating every guest the same. Not at this location. For one of your manager to tell me they would, and then when I get an estimate, and ask for 10 pieces, the manager states that he would not do it becuase it was 20 mintues before close. Why didn't he just tell me he couldn't when I first asked him, and not say that he could and then back track on it. Poor customer service. Would never go to this Ace...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is probably one of the best 'neighborhood' hardware stores around. You can get cheaper prices going to a 'big box' store but when it comes to customer service these guys can't be beat. They're also a great place to pick up that miscellaneous hardware item you may need. It's great walking in and picking up a single cotter pin or a single specialty bolt to replace one that has broken or worn out. It's also a great place to pick up a new grill, lawn mower or snow-thrower when you need one. A lot of those big items are damaged during shipping or handling at the big box chains. That doesn't happen here and you can be sure the folks helping you pick one out or loading into your vehicle are going to see it before you leave the store so you're not getting home to be disappointed with your purchase. In short, those big stores have their purposes. Customer service, well that depends on who you find. At Ace, that's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came in yesterday to get some things to seal my counter tops, and the guy there was not helpful at all. He just pointed to what I needed and didnāt try to explain to me the product and what I should do with it. He had a very nonchalant attitude. Then told me to use the product with my finger when the product says not to get on skin. Iām only being generous giving them a two star because eventually he became helpful towards the end, but still gave off this aura that he didnāt want to help me . Usually when I come there I have an okay experience, I know that by me being a person of color theyāre not really helpful or friendly. I just try to ignore because being in the white bear lake area thereās a lot of...
