This is my second review. The first I deleted because they did take care of some problems. The first review was around Thanksgiving 2017. It is now July 2018 and we are thankfully moving out. I have never lived somewhere thats makes me so crazy. So crazy I am willing to spend the extra 2 months rent to break our lease.
So lets start with the good. First most outdoor spaces look nice and are well kept. The clubhouse with pool table, pool, and gym are nice for the community. Community events are nice. Most people living here are wonderful people. Natalie in the office is lovely and always helpful. Maintence staff is always professional and friendly. While valet trash is an additional $12 fee it is a nice service.
Word of warning. Read your lease carefully! We paid $300 pet fee and $15 a month pet rent. This is just a fee to have your pet. Imagine my surprise when we gave our 60 day notice and said we had to pay to deflea and deep clean carpets. Anywhere I have ever stayed thats usually why there is a pet fee to pay for this..but no. My mistake as I did not see it in the fine print. Just be aware and don't make my mistake!
Okay now on to some bad. The quality of the apartments is low. Things were so obviously slapped together. Have pictures of various issues upon when we moved in which some have been taken care of. Some however we have to live with. Pictures include cabinet handles that are offset (fixed to best of ability without ordering new door), bathroom mirror lights are not centered at all, walls that curve, small hole by outlet (has been patched), rings around shower are always coming undone, and paint on walls that come off when I try to clean. The latest problem has been the kitchen cabinet that fell off when I tugged on it like normal (picture attached). You can tell its made very cheaply and these are only 1 year old! They have had to order a new one but it has yet to be fixed.
One of the biggest problems that has driven me crazy is the sound issue. Its bad. There is no sound proofing. We had this issue months ago and I thought it was just loud neighbors. Well they moved out and now I hear the new neighbors. I do not blame them. I blame the horrible construction and zero sound proofing. I can hear people talking above me and outside clearly. Just last night I was awoken at 2:30 am to loud talking and doors banging. It sounds like a stampede walking up the stairs. I can hear every single time the people above us turn on the shower or flush the toilet. If I am also in the bathroom I can even hear the people above of us pee. No joke. Its THAT bad.
This last thing really rubs me all wrong. We have made this issue known twice. And photos have been taken twice. I have also posted my own photos of the patio issue. We are paying for a patio that we cannot use. We have been told that they are doing $200000 worth of landscaping that will fix the issue. Its been over a year and it has not been fixed. When it rains our patio becomes flooded. There is almost always standing water. You can see the issue in picture attached. You can also see how it has flooded so much that the plants are near dead and all mulch is gone but instead full of mud. This has attracted many bugs. Its a constant fight so we just do not use it which is annoying since we are paying for it. What is more annoying is that phase one has gutter spouts that are buried so do not deal with this. Obviously they cheaped out once again because phase 2 they are all open. The yard slopes downward which brings all that water to us. It is unacceptable when one half of the community does not have this issue. It has also caused ruined property. There is a storage closet outside the patio and we put my daughters stroller there since its so big its out of the way. The next time we went to get it it was covered in mold (picture). Who knows what kind of mold may be hiding and I am afraid it has harmed our health.
Hopefully this review will guide new tenents. If these things would not bother you then it can be a good place to live but its a...
Read moreI moved to the greater Nashville area last year in a pinch, so I didn’t really have time to research places to live. Let me help you out here- this is not it. The office never answers the phone- EVER. Don’t believe me? Call during business hours and see for yourself. But don’t bother leaving a message, they won’t return those either. I was harassed by a neighbor and had to get the police involved, I called and left a message for the office and they never called me back. I also had an issue with packages being stolen from my front door when I first moved in, which I always reported to the office with no call back. I installed a camera which solved the issue. I was told by a neighbor that had lived here for a few years that my particular apartment had flooded a few years back, which would explain why the cabinets are all bubbled up and have the finish peeling off. I am also pretty sure that there is an HVAC issue as all of my stuff grows mold on it that I have to wipe off periodically. I haven’t bothered letting the office know since they won’t call me back anyways. The finishes in the apartment are extremely cheap: carpet, cabinets, even the toilet seat which is plastic and if you sit on it with the lid down it buckles in. I live towards the back of the complex, so I think they let a lot of the appearance standards go down. The HVAC area has extension cords that have been cut up and left out and the “Fire Riser Room” outside has no handle and a bunch of cords running out of it.
Overall, this has been a quiet place to live, which I appreciate. But I cannot get out of here fast enough. My main complaint is that they don’t answer the phones or return calls. I will vouch for their email capabilities, however. There is a new complex right around the corner from here that I would look at...
Read moreMy family has lived at The Standard for just over a year. We could not be more happy with our experience here! The layout of our 2BR is spacious and offers plenty of storage/closet space for our family of 4. The grounds/landscaping is beautiful and our children have loved the playground and pool amenities.
From the application process, and throughout our time as tenants, Natalie has been incredibly helpful and professional. Our move-out situation is unique in that our lease was ending 6 weeks before closing on our home, but she worked with us so we SAVED MONEY! Most apartments look at the tenants as dollar signs rather than people, but not here.
While we have only experienced minor issues that required the Maintenance team (Light bulb changes, towel bar replacement, etc.), they have been exceptional. Mike and Dustin are both super friendly and quick to respond to any work requests we've submitted.
I honestly hate to even list anything negative, but I want to leave an honest review. The one con is other tenants not cleaning up after their pets. There is dog poop everywhere. It really shouldn't be an issue, as there are pet waste stations in several spots along the sidewalks. I would like to point out that this should be no reflection on the staff, as they try their best to remind lazy tenants to clean up or be fined. The dog park has even been locked, but the problem continues. I'm confident that the management will find a way to...
