I had a very unpleasant first experience at this business. Since it was my first visit, I looked over their website and looked at what they had to offer. I was unfamiliar with cupping therapy, so did some research on it. I was concerned about it leaving marks on my skin (which is a common side effect) and decided against having the procedure.
When I arrived for my appointment, the masseuse gave me a tour and explained some of their therapy options. He asked me if I was interested in trying cupping and I was very clear that I was not interested.
During the middle of the massage, the masseuse began doing a demo of cupping on me. He did not ask if I wanted the demo or get my permission.
I was in a very uncomfortable situation and felt very vulnerable since I was naked and on my stomach and with a new masseuse that I didn’t know. I did not say anything at the time but sent an email through his website later to tell him how I felt about the experience. Neither he or any other staff members responded.
I’m not someone who generally leaves bad reviews for businesses. I tend to live by the adage, ‘if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all’. But I felt awful being touched in a way that I had asked to not be touched and want to make other people aware of it so they can avoid the same experience.
Addendum: This is a response to the owner's response. Google would not allow me to respond to the owner's response.
The original email I sent to you was sent through the messaging system on your website. Once sent, there is no original email or message left to resend. Since you requested I resend the email, I rewrote approximately what I had sent before and resent it through the same system. If you've not received it, there may be an error with your system.
I need to clarify some things stated in your response. You are correct that I had stated that I did not want cupping. However, I never stated that I would like a demo. In fact, I made it clear to you that I had not been offered a demo. The cupping demo was performed without my permission on my body while I was lying prone on the table. The whole reason why I am upset is because I specifically made it clear that I did not want cupping performed and the masseuse did it anyway.
As for the part about the arm, when I talked to you on the phone about the matter, I suggested that in the future, if the therapist would like to demo his service, perhaps he could show someone on his arm first, or ask if they'd like to have it tried on their arm. I never thought that was what the therapist was going to do. In fact, because I had stated specifically that I did not want cupping performed on my body, I felt that the matter was closed.
Yes, I did research on cupping before I came. That is why I declined that particular treatment when it was offered. By-the-way, when I declined, the therapist called me "chicken". I did not have questions about cupping as my research had answered my questions and I had decided I did not want it done.
I appreciate that you called me to discuss the issue. Over and over you stated that it was a miscommunication. Clearly the miscommunication persisted through our conversation as you can see from the examples above. I told him I didn't want cupping, he...
Read moreI had a massage and Rock tape session with Jerry. I have had major problems with arthritis in my knees for the past two years, but especially the past year. Jerry ask me to try out the RockTape and taping my knees. I agreed to try it out and let me tell you, the difference it has made in the past week. My chief complaints were pain, pain to the point i had bought a walker so i had a place to sit down when i needed it. Another complaint was instability in the joints. i never felt stable and as a result, i had issues with muscle pain and my muscles being so tight all the time trying to balance. Jerry taped my knees on both sides and used the Rocktape to stabilize my knees. As soon as i stood up the difference was unbelievable. I immediately notice the stability was back I didn't feel my knees shifting back and forth. It took a bit of walking to notice that i had been walking for a while with little to no pain. It just kind of snuck up on me when i went to a store to shop and realized i hadn't had to sit down at all in about a 45 mins shopping trip. i loaded my groceries, drove home, WALKED UP MY STEPS WITH ZERO PAIN!!! 12 STEPS INTO MY HOUSE and no pain. I was in shock!!! it had been two years since i had felt no pain in my knees. i have had them Rocktaped since Friday (it is now Tuesday) and still other then a tiny bit of stiffness yesterday (it rained) i have still had no pain or discomfort, my skin hasn't broken out from the tape and i feel more stable when walking then i have for over a year. I am not loosing balance or tripping nearly as much as i had been before the taping. I honestly cant believe the change. I can shower and dress with the tape still on (just tap the areas with a towel to dry and keep the tape on) Rocktape is amazing and Jerry's skill in wrapping is amazing!!!!! Thank you Jerry for your ability and knowledge!!!...
Read moreIf you are in the greater White House area, I totally recommend Kneading Together Massage. My therapist, Jerry Lee, was referred to me to help with plantar fasciitis which I had been dealing with for 8 months. Since I was basically hobbled, I was in dire need of results.
Jerry explained the etiology of my condition, the procedure for dealing with it, and how my body would likely respond. This provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the whole process.
Since this was a therapeutic procedure, there was a level of discomfort involved. Jerry had prepared me for this before hand and we took breaks as needed. This was the only intervention which provided me with actual relief and I feel that I am on the road to recovery.
For your own sake, if you suffer from a similar condition or you possibly have another musculoskeletal problem, give this great therapist a chance. I didn't want to end up relying on shots or surgery, so I am so glad that a friend told me about Kneading Together and Jerry. Good luck to whoever finds this review.
Update (10/02/2021): Just want to let people know that Jerry and the Kneading Together team continue to deliver an awesome experience. It had been a while since my previous session and I left feeling more relaxed than I had in a long time. I slept like a baby that...
