Merry Christmas 2021. Have to give it to the waitresses and cooks for such a nice meal. Was glad an proud to see that even right after their rush of to go orders and a full house, cleaning was being done. I even told that to the lady sweeping, at the low bar. Sanitization is key. With that being said, I must say one gentleman, or server, stood around a great deal of time, repeatedly got in the way of other servers, or the one expediting the orders, and yet unphased by it- while they are working to get orders taken care of, and lastly displayed an uncomfortable feeling of unprofessionalism with a high level of ugliness. After watching him, use the coffee pot, for a table behind the low bar, he had the nerve to belittle the waitresses by falsely accusing in a obscenely loud voice for he very thing he did. It urked me from the sound his tone and volume by stating: ladies we aren't going to use a coffee pot and lay it off in the side- yet he did that. The whole restaurant not only heard, the store fell quiet till it was called out by others to him, where his tension still was made apparent. Could have turned into a bad confrontation from one end of the store to another, not the experience I have ever known of. Behavior on this level has potential for hurting a business and/or having damaging effects for the other team players. As someone who has yrs of experience waiting tables, even as a 3rd shift server for Waffle House, many upon many lines were crossed in watching him as other servers/staff members were doing their duties for the 45+ minutes we were there. In watching his actions, from a server to a customer's POV, I could tell he wasn't management but tried to be perceived as such, yet obviously lacked the traits are needed for such position. That final insult to the servers with the lack of concern for fellow patrons there was what prompted this review. Hopefully management pays attention (to him). I believe I heard his name as James, from Victoria who seemed as acting manager. Drama on that level is unnecessary and not the reputation that this location is known for. The rest of the staff and the waitresses were on top of things even when being hit hard on Christmas, quarter to 1pm....
Read moreMy husband and I love Waffle House and the staff in this one was very friendly. However, when we sat down at a booth, the table was full of crumbs and sticky from syrup, apparently not wiped off yet from the previous customer. It happens, no big deal. But when our waitess started to set our silverware down, I asked politely if she could wipe the table first. She was very sweet and obliged. The only problem was she wiped it with a sopping wet rag, which left the table soaked, not damp mind you, but very wet. I thought a dry towel would be next, but to my surprise she instead proceeded to put napkins down, and carefully place our silverware on the napkins so they wouldn't get wet. I had to keep from laughing at the absurdity of it. She did it with such care, making sure the silverware didn't touch the obvious water on the table. There were no menus so my husband asked for some and she put those down on the wet table too. As soon as she turned to leave to give us time to look at the menus, I grabbed some napkins and started wiping off the table and our now dripping wet menus. I replaced the napkins that our silverware was on and wiped the silverware down with more napkins for good measure. Okay, not the best start, but we love Waffle House and we were in a hurry so we stayed. After all, Waffle House is always fast and we could get in and out quickly...or so we thought. It wasn't crowded yet it took quite some time to get our food. My husband saw our bacon and sausage sitting on the counter for at least 10 minutes of the time we waited and commented that if those were ours, they'd be cold. When our food was finally delivered, we had to ask again for the sausage and bacon, and yes, the ones on the counter were ours and they were cold. Other than that, the food was good. My eggs were cooked just like I like them and the...
Read moreCan't give it zero stars or I would. Came in around 330 am after working all night. No crowd, just a few people. EVERY TABLE in the place was covered with dirty dishes. Waitress told us to pick a seat and she'd clean it for us. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but she took my husband's order and our drink requests, then looked at me and said she would wait and put our order in at the same time. When I was ready to order she came back and took my order. It took at least 5 more mins after that for her to bring us our drinks. Right after she set them on the table she said, "cook's going to bring your food, I'm going to step out for a few minutes" where she proceeded to take a smoke break out the front door.
Cook brought us our food, and though it tasted decent, my waffle was not cooked completely and my husband's double with cheese was served with cold unmelted cheese - as though they forgot it was supposed to have cheese and added it last minute. Our drinks were never refilled.
I noticed while we ate that every table in the restaurant remained dirty, even after everyone else left and my husband and I were the only ones remaining. I was honestly disappointed with the service, and completely disgusted with the cleanliness of the restaurant. I worked in the food service industry for several years, and such would never have been tolerated. You should never take a break while your whole restaurant is a train wreck!
Skip the funk and get drive through, or drive on to Franklin KY, or Goodlettsville, surely they're not as gross...
