I placed a take out order for two meal entrees by phone and was told my food would be ready in 10 mins. I show up 20 mins later and walked up to the cashier. She had me pay for my food and I declined the receipt (won't be doing that anymore). I patiently waited 15 mins before asking about my order. She uses her earpiece mic to check on my order. Another 10 mins ago by and she brings me the food bag and says she gave my order to another customer and they brought it back to her!!!!! WHAT RESTAURANT DOES THAT?? Gives your order to another customer that takes your food out of sight to their car and brings it back and expects someone to take it with no questions asked?? Not this one...I informed her that I will not accept that food due to the fact I don't know if it's been tampered with or someone has put their fingers in it! So I tell her I will wait for my order to be repackaged. She calls for someone to come and they dump my food out I guess to show me they won't just repackage it (which I appreciate ). Another 30 mins goes by and I've asked twice during that time between two different associates about checking on my food. The second one comes back and asked if the order would be in a different name?? By this time I feel the whole staff should know my name as many times as I've told them as well as the cashier girl calling it out in her earpiece mic throughout the encounter. So by that time I ask to see a Manager. That took another 10 mins. The Retail Manager comes to me, I tell her my name and she goes to the kitchen and doesn't come back. So I see the retail Manager come out of the kitchen and speaking to who I suspect is the Manager so I go up and asked if she is the Manager. Yes, by this time I am just a little upset which I quickly apologize to her for my demeanor and say how she would feel the same if she were in my shoes. Which after hearing the ordeal I've been through over the last hour by this point she quickly made a resolve as a lady came out of the kitchen and asks me my name and says here is your food. I made sure it was freshly cooked. I thanked her and the Manager and I went to the cash register. She asked me how much my order was cause apparently if you don't take the receipt when they offer to print it then they are not able to retrieve anyone's receipt. I know my order was $40 and some change. Usually when I'm offered a refund or partial refund I usually decline because I in no way am looking at trying to get a free lunch or dinner, however an hour and 25 mins after placing an order that you are told will be ready in 10 mins and it's an hour and 25 mins later then YES Ma'am. I will take your offer to refund me. Only because I hope that it sends a message to your team that you all need to get it together! I can write another 2000 words to show all the things I saw during my stay waiting on my food but this is already long enough. There were certainly not a shortage of staff as there were plenty seen running or standing around so that can't be the issue so please White House Cracker Barrell get it together. As for me I will travel on to another location when I want another Cracker Barrell meal as it seems something always happens when I try to order food from this location. And its not just me, another lady was there when I got there and she had been waiting a while also. And by the way, my food did not taste like it was "freshly" cooked. I was thinking they were "frying" fresh steak fries but they were not even fresh. So to avoid any further frustration when it comes to what we having for dinner. This location will NEVER...
Read moreI'm extremely disappointed and saddened at my experience tonight at cracker barrel and I will not be returning to this location in White House and probably not to another cracker barrel again. I have deleted my app and closed my account. I came in tonight with my 81-year-old mother to have a nice meal before I went to work and we waited for about 5 to 10 minutes to be seated took a while to take our order took a while to get the water and half hour later we still have no food and no biscuits and cornbread which the waitress said she would bring right out. At the half hour points the waitress came out and advised us she had just put our order in and it would still be some time before it would be ready. I let her know that we had to leave I had to take my mother home and then drive to another town for work. I had only had cereal today and was looking forward to a nice big meal at cracker barrel to get me through work.
The people that were behind us in line before we were seated were seated two tables away behind me. As we were waiting for our order the lady talked about a chicken pot pie which is what my mother had ordered as well. Those people got their order and we were still waiting and had arrived before that couple..
To top it all off I asked for a manager finally one came out she asked what she could do and she was kind. She offered to comp a couple meals and I said I did not want it I had no interest in returning to cracker barrel again. My mother said she would take them again we waited, And she did not return back out, knowing that time was an issue.. we finally left the restaurant with no food no comp meals and a very bad taste in our mouth.
I wish you would understand that this meal tonight with my mother meant a lot and she was very much looking forward to her meal It might not seem much to you but to my mother it meant a lot at 81 years old. To get out of the house for the day and have a fun meal with her daughter.
I hope your staff can learn from this and things can improve and no other customer will experience this again. But it's for myself I will not return to a cracker barrel again nor will I recommend them. The series of events was unfortunate and I do understand things get busy and I was a very patient customer but when someone blatantly does not put my order in for over a half hour when the restaurant was very dead at that point I have to draw a line and take my money elsewhere.
4-8-24 - as of today nobody has contacted me. I posted this review and I contacted a corporate. I guess cracker barrel has now shown its true colors and they don't care about their customer when they bring up serious issues.... Very sad to see the decline of this company and especially the White House location in Tennessee. Check out the other review, it's not just me that's been negatively affected by...
Read moreSoooooo, Cracker Barrel is batting 0 for 3 since I’ve been back in Tennessee. I used to love coming and enjoying the entire experience. Not so much anymore. We stood in line at the receptionist for 5 minutes before they took us to our table. The “Greeter” did not greet us. Our server was okay. The food took so long, which I’ll get to momentarily. The biscuits came out but there was no plates because “the dishwasher just arrived.” How’s that my problem? So, we’ll just eat off the table, no problem. How about someone washes some dishes… When I managed a restaurant, if my dishwasher didn’t show up, I’d slap on some rubber gloves and get scrubbing, or maybe call in another dishwasher, or catch someone dining and dashing and make them wash dishes. Just kidding, I never managed a restaurant, but if I did, I certainly wouldn’t make customers eat off the table. Eaten at a lot of restaurants, that was a first. So an episode of jeopardy and wheel of fortune later (an hour and 3 minutes) half of the table food came out. My daughter’s burger had no pickles, because they ran out. Which, I find strange because we literally ate fried pickles for an appetizer 45 minutes before that. Well I guess that’s where her pickles went, sorry honey. So overall, sadly I will NOT be returning to Cracker Barrel, for a while anyway. Chapter 3, approximately 1 hour and 27 minutes since we’ve embarked on this adventure. I asked to speak with the manager. 3 out of the 6 in my family have finished their meals, while the rest of us have our stomachs begin to eat our spines. Wendy, the manager came out, I can tell she’s very frustrated. She has agreed to give us the 3 meals that have taken now exactly 1.5 hours, oh wait… breaking news… he just brought 2 of the remaining 3 meals… and one of them was wrong, wait no 2 of them were wrong. I’m missing my chicken and dumplings and my son got kiddy burgers with cheese. Was supposed to be a big people burger with no cheese. It came out again and was wrong again and had no fries and had mayo, eww. My check came out and was wrong, only took off 2 meals. I did meet a nice man named Mark, whom is a pastor and said he’s going to use my patience and handling of the whole experience in his sermon. First ever compliment in my life on my patience, thanks Mark. Well as our journey comes to a close (oh snap here’s our fries 114 minutes later, but can’t get a to go box cause they’re out) I pray y’all get your act together, you had a lot of upset customers tonight.
