Michael's has so much awesome stuff!!!!! Sadly though, the prices are ridiculous. Even the items marked on sale are outrageously priced. Why?! I understand everyone is in the game to make a profit. But, holy cow! And then it dawned on me why I haven't stepped in a Michael's for years. I'm definitely not rich, by any means. But, when I go into Michael's, I'm a different person when I come out. Depressed. Upset. Frustrated. And confused, because I can't remember where I left the cardboard box that I must live in. That's how 'financially challenged' Michael's makes me feel. Heck, the price of something as simple as scissors makes me gasp in disbelief! I went in, excited to help my son find some type of foam for his project. He did get what he needed. Yet I walked out of that store feeling completely defeated.
I would've given Michael's only 2 stars because of the ruthless prices. But, I must admit that they have an impressive and vast selection of crafting/art products. That gave them 3 stars. Then, there was the sweetheart cashier that patiently answered our questions, helped me find a coupon online that helped reduce the damage to my wallet, and who stayed very professional, kind, understanding & calm when I neared the line of a panic attack, triggered by ticket shock. She didn't side with me and say that she thought the prices were crazy, too. But, she also didn't make me feel like less of a person bc the price almost put me on my butt, lol. She heard me out and offered to help me find that coupon. I wish I remembered her name, because she was fantastic all around . And maybe, just possibly, I'll visit that Michael's again,...
Read moreMichaels in Indiana PA is well-organized, clean, has quality products and excellent personnel. This rating, however, isn't only for my hometown Michaels, but for the whole company. I've been an artist my entire life, and I remember the days before Michaels (and Hobby Lobby). Finding art supplies was difficult! In those days, you'd drive for hours to a big city in search of a Dick Blick for canvas and paints. If you wanted to make crafts out of popsicle sticks... you actually had to eat and collect popsicles!!! Can you remember or picture the world without Michaels? We all need to shop here more to show our appreciation, to keep the company strong and well-sustained. Otherwise, we risk losing the convenience of this one-of-a-kind specialty store, the same way we lost toy stores Toys 'R' Us & Kaybee, the same way we lost Radio Shack, the same way we lost SEARS and their 'lifetime guaranteed' Craftsman tools (though quite common today, for decades this was an offering unique among all competitors). Just one man's simple opinion. Thank...
Read moreThank God we have such a wonderful crafts store in town where we can get virtually all variety of crafts supplies at a very decent price. We can spend our time with family members choosing goods together or participating in their craft classes together. If we like something, we buy at a very decent price, as they have coupons readily available online or mailed to our homes. If we want to return goods, they take them readily.😀 This way we save on packages which we would have to inevitably use if shopping on Amazon ( bad for the...
