Z Buffet N Grill — Restaurant in White Township

We went as a group of 7 adults and 3 kids. We had a $1 off buffet coupon, which they gave to my wife the previous day as she went exploring where to take our guests the following day. My wife was told that the $1 discount was per person. I also understand that the coupon cannot be stacked on another discount.

However, the behavior of the lady at the prepayment counter was very questionable. She promised that she would apply the discount and did not want me to tear off the coupon for her. When she told me the total amount due, my mental math suggested that I was being overcharged.

At that point, I questioned the total and noticed that she switched to Chinese with her colleague. Then, she told me that she has added a 15% tip and said I should add more tip which I did not.

Later, when I looked at the receipt, I noticed she did not even give us the $1 discount on five regularly priced buffet. When I pointed out the issue, she gave me a $1 bill, saying it was only $1 per group. I did not want to argue.

What was most annoying was the waiter, as we were leaving, was expecting a tip that we had pre-paid (or really overpaid). She was arguing that it was only 15% and she wanted us to leave her more tip. It is not a full-service place and almost demanding a 20% tip is ridiculous.

Another issue for vegetarians: Our group, barring one person, was vegetarian and I definitely think that there could have been more options for us.

Anyway, I would suggest the patrons check the details of their charges. I have gone there numerous times under two previous owners and never ever felt uncomfortable as I felt yesterday. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not take my guests...

I am so unsatisfied.

My friends and I went three times, the first time our meal was $12 and gave us food poisoning. The second was Father’s Day and for some reason they charged $20 and we got sick. Today we went, they said it was $16 and then once we paid said that it was actually $18.01 today so we had to pay more. After we left we realized that she changed the price to $18 because she charged us a tip before we ate. Cmon, it’s a self serve buffet. Like what am I tipping. And that’s unacceptable to charge before the meal, especially at a stinking self serve buffet.

There’s 3 good food choices out of like 35 options and nothings the texture it should be. Not even the white rice was done right. It was tan/brown-ish white and crunchy. The best thing was probably the ice cream and it was store bought.

This is the third time it has opened under a different name because of food code violations. Wouldn’t be surprised if they close and open back up again in a month under a different name.

This store needs some serious rework with there staff in the front. They force us to pay up front at the desk as if we will run away from the bill. In addition, the two workers/host in the front barely speaks any English, I can’t even understand them most of the time. The tall guy/host with the balding head is very unprofessional. He tells us to follow him and can’t decide which table to give us. He can’t even do his job right, I followed him from left to right, down and up. Absolute joke. Also my son said while in the bathroom, he saw the same guy swinging his body wildly while urinating and holding his genitals at the stall and walked out without washing his hands.
