Sobek Fitness — Local services in White Township

The gym overall isn’t terrible- but there should be more maintenance of all the not working treadmills, ellipticals, etc. But I picked this gym over any other for the “free tanning” that comes with a monthly package. I came to the gym just to find that the tanning bed is a standing bed in a foldable closet of the women’s locker room. The door of the dressing area does not latch, and the door to the tanning bed is very difficult to open/close, making it kind of scary to even use. The controls of this bed barely even work.

They also leave the tanning bed open and unattended 24/7, which is illegal.

I also only wanted a gym package for one month (which is a crazy $30/mo), but somehow got billed for several months after I stopped going. When I realized this and called, the owner told me he can’t refund me all the money and hung up on me. I called back, he said he can refund me one month but there’s nothing else he can do. He can even see that I haven’t been there in months because of the sign in log; but just does not want to refund me.

It's a cool gym with loads of space and a good variety of equipment. So far the best Gym in Indiana and I like the fact that ur not tied to a contract, so u can pay as you go. Been coming here for a month now and am very happy with the laid back atmosphere. The only thing I dislike is folks who come in, stand around the machines and chatter like it's a pub, or sit on the machines and fiddle with their phones instead of working out and we that came to work out are robbed of using the machines and end up just doing floor exercises just so we haven't wasted gym time. There's plenty of space in the mall and the parking lot to chat!! Hopefully the management can address this, as thats why I left my previous gym because it became more of a chatter club than a gym. I appreciate that it's 24 hours but most of us have schedules and gym time can only be done at specific times. Other than that, I overall like it...

I should preface by saying that I'm a night owl and typically come here off-hours, so my experience may not reflect what most people coming right after work or early in the morning will experience. That being said. I love this gym. The management is nice, pricing is fair, it's always clean, cleaning spray and paper towels are always available, and there are so many different types of equipment for any muscle I've ever wanted to target. Also because access is locked by fingerprint scan I never feel uneasy with randoms coming in off the street or anything. If I was forced to pick one thing I don't like I guess it'd be that handle attachments for the cable machines are usually just laying next to the machines instead of neatly placed on the storage hooks, but that's a very minor...
