I usually enjoy going to this market and the food variety is great. I frequent this store being Asian there is a constant need for asian food items not readily available at any supermarket. The lady there is always super helpful as well as the entire store staff. Prices are ok but it is better than driving into Philadelphia or New York. Never really had anything bad to say until today. Due to covid-19, I sent my fiancé out to the store. I gave him a list of items with pictures and told him that anyone at the store should be able to help. I have to put it out there my fiancé is not Asian, so it’s obvious he would need their help. I was on FaceTime with him to navigate through the store, when he asked for help from the same lady that has always been helpful, she refused and said she is only a cashier and just ignored him. When he ask another store personnel, this same lady screams out he doesn’t know and don’t ask him and said to go look for it himself. I was very disappointed in her actions being that she has always been very helpful to me in the past. She was very rude to my fiancé and it is sad to say she has lost me as a customer. Not sure why she was so rude to my fiancé but it really cost nothing to be nice especially when you rely on customers to stay in business. Not sure if it was stress of the current situation but discrimination is not far from this...
Read moreAwful customer service. Stood in line to pay only to be ignored for another customer not once but twice! I waited my turn but she literally helped every other customer in the store before me, the second customer even apologized to me for taking my turn as he could see she was ignoring me! While waiting to pay for 15 minutes one of the many items I was holding slipped fell. I grabbed another and when I was finally rung up she said to put it to the side and gave me the total as she had clearly seen it fall, which only happened because I was waiting for so long. I pulled out my wallet only to catch her trying to put the damaged item in my bag while I wasn't looking! I asked what she was doing and if she had charged me for both the damaged and undamaged items, and she said yes!! I told her if she had helped me when I came to the counter to pay I wouldn't have dropped anything and why would I want damaged food that fell on the ground in my bag? She literally said "oh which one fell?" As if I wasn't standing right in front of her! I looked at her and said are you serious? She took it out gave me the receipt and walked away from the counter. That was it. This was my second visit and between the 2 I spent over $200. The item that fell was a pack of sesame balls that cost $3.75. I will not be returning and do not suggest anyone else does you can find Asian...
Read moreI would rated this store as a ZERO If yelp would let me and here is why. had previously visited this market before and thought that it was a hidden gem. Unfortunately, my experience was totally different on my 2nd visit to the store. I was greeted by a rude employee who did not care to assist me. I brushed it off and I thought perhaps she was having a bad day or was busy trying to finish a task. Unfortunately, that was not the case as she was all smiles and very helpful to other customers and refuse to aid me in finding anything. Simply pointing down the aisle with a quick flick of the finger.
I am one who sees the positive in every situation and gives people the benefit of the doubt. However, I could not, I will not, stand for injustice. I cannot express how vehemently treated with disdain I was this day.
I even attempted to seek help from a back end employee. The gentleman ignored me at first. But I wanted to assume he could not hear me so I gently said excuse me once more. I kid you not he side eyed me and totally disrespectingly said, "What!!!!" I do not give way to exaggeration when I say that he looked at me as if I was less than dirt and didn't move one inch to assist me. I was with my young daughter who until this day had not witnessed such prejudice....
