We went to the mall and it was completely dead. Almost all the stores are different and not focused on kids I would say. It's a real bummer that herbergers is not there and JCPenney's is not there also they got rid of a lot of other stores. They charge way too much in rent for the stores to be there. And they're not taking care of the roof because they were buckets around to catch water. You could see the water stains on the ceiling and the tiles starting to fall down. I'm just saying this is very unsafe for customers and instead of fixing the roof they're trying to sell the building. They also have a bunch of computer printed signs saying that you're not allowed to just be there to run around. No skateboards are allowed and stuff like that which they never had before. It really upsets me going back to this mall and seeing it in the ruins it is. They don't have CJ Banks there anymore and Hallmark is gone. Their second jewelry store is gone. They're one pizza places being remodeled because it's taking different ownership I guess. There is a new rock store in there they've been in there for 2 years and the kids like that place but it's not all that kid friendly either since the shelving units in there are not very sturdy. Kind of hard to rely on doing a birthday party there if shelves are not sturdy. The items on the shelves if you were to break them are like $85. I would want a sturdy shelf for items of that price to be on. Or at least bolted into the wall when they know that they're going to have little kids there for birthday parties. I'm going to have to rethink that one because it's not practical to have a bunch of little kids there if that's how they...
Read moreFirst time in quite awhile I stopped at the Kandi Mall. Got some great smelling candles at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. Love the cinnamon & vanilla, fresh lilac, lime mint, and peppermint aromas. So powerful fills my entire 3 bedroom, 2 story lake home for several hours, even into the next morning. Parking lot looks TERRIBLE with widespread severe and deep potholes. Not a good sign for management and ownership of the mall. Also, clearly a serious mind and apparent demon problem throughout the mall, both customers and store employees are having strange supernaturally evil problems, caused by witchcraft and bad idol deals. Law enforcement? Useless, at best, on those types of issues. Same with local psychiatrists, part of the problem, not the solution in Willmar. Glad I...
Read moreA classic dying mall. Roughly 1/3 plus of the building is empty. New owners of the mall. Hopefully they can find new tennants and revive the mall.
Update; as of June 2021 both JC Penny, and herberger's have closed along with smaller retailers. On the brighter side both Kohls and Harbor Freight tools opened on the south end of the mall in was once the old Kmart space. Both are strong national retailers and bring steady traffic to the mall. The theater has done a pretty good job of upgrading their facilities. The biggest problem with the mall is the parking lot. Endless potholes make for a less than safe driving experience even if...
