Go somewhere else... especially if you're a person of color. The only difference between this visit and his last is that his black father came instead of his white mother... and we were punished for something for which no one has batted an eyelash in her direction since the child was born. This facility is deplorable and no one more so than the confused karens working at the front check in kiosks. We arrived 30 min before my childs appointment to be told that despite using his mothers insurance for every visit since his birth, that there was no way they could use it and only would try to use my insurance which is out of network with a large out of pocket cost. Despite my best efforts to simply check in they refused us and even turned our doctor away when our time was called. They refused to do anything for me, or my child but put me in contact with a financial advisor... for insurance we already have and through which my child is and has been covered for example his appointment the week prior. After a call from my wife whom they seemed more willing to accommodate even over the phone, we were finally allowed in the waiting room a full hour past our appointment where we waited for our doctor. After another hour wait, i plead for us to see the doctor soon ...they assured me there were other appointments ahead of my 18 month old who was not just on time but early for the appointment for which they refused to allow him to check in on time. Finally 3.5 hours after our appointment we see a doctor, his usual doctor, the doctor who has seen him for 70% of his life. Takes his height and weight and asks about his development. An interaction that lasted less than 20 minutes... no vaccinations or inoculations. My whole day wasted because of the incompetent and...
Read moreI had a very upsetting experience at the Cleveland Clinic Willoughby Hills Family Health Center. During multiple visits with Dr. Diane Young Brown, I felt dismissed, pressured, and spoken to in ways that were unprofessional and judgmental.
At my most recent visit, I came in with irritation and itching after using new wipes. Instead of listening to my concerns about a possible yeast or bacterial infection, Dr. Young told me: “Looks like you caught herpes along the way.” This statement was devastating, shaming, and inappropriate. She only ordered a herpes swab (which later came back negative) and still prescribed herpes medication, saying: “For now, we will say you do not have herpes.”
This was not my first concerning experience. At both my first and second visits, she repeatedly pushed birth control on me, even after I had already acknowledged and thanked her for the information. It felt forceful, like she wasn’t listening to me as a patient.
What hurt the most was the lack of compassion. I was crying during my visit, yet no effort was made to call me directly when my results came back negative. Instead, her language made me feel as though she almost wanted me to have herpes.
I have since filed a complaint with the Ohio Medical Board and contacted Cleveland Clinic leadership. I truly hope this facility takes steps to ensure patients are treated with professionalism, empathy, and thorough care...
Read moreMy message to Cleveland Clinic Find someone local to you, they do not get back to patients.
Message Sent to Them Is standard practice to not call patients back whom are calling in everyday to request a call back because that has been my only option to try to contact . Still have not received a single call back as a patient trying to get on the medication prescribed by this office. 4 Business days to even respond to a my chart message which was my last ditch effort to get noticed by someone in office to answer me.
This is not the standards or reputation I would expect the Cleveland Clinic to have.
If more people need to be hired to keep up with demand or a specific personal to handle communications then that should go up the chain of command and be demanded and not leave a patient trying to get in touch for 2 weeks calling in every day to get on medication prescribed.
Try it, call the Cleveland clinic number pretending to be a patient, ask for Elizabeth Rays office in Rheumatology and feel the pain of a patient trying to get answers. You can not get through the phone systems and will be forwarded 3 times to be told no one is available and a note will be left to call you back.
We need to do better than this. I own a business and if I took that long to respond to a client I would not get the job now or ever. People put trust in your...
