For years I have listened to Tom Bodett talk about how Motel 6 provides clean comfortable room. Well Tom you might want to check in at the motel 6 I stated at. I thought my expectations were reasonable enough. CLEAN room but this if you view the pictures you will see they missed the mark at this motel 6 and while we are on the subject two of the 4 lights in the room did not work or had light switch issues. Bathtub was dirty never cleaned during my visit, floors which were tile and woodish floor never cleaned as you will see from the new socks I took a picture of and had walked from the main room to the bathroom and back. Let's talk about safety, there was a receptical with no cover. The sink drains and bathtub drains very very slowly. On the second day of my stay they put in towels and nothing else and so I had to complain to the front desk. So Tom if you read this I think you should visit the motel 6 in Willoughby at route 91 & 90 in Ohio but the light may not be on there for you.

We had an emergency that forced us to temporarily stay here for 2 weeks and it wasn't bad. I would recommend looking online for the best price and the people at the desk will only rent rooms for the posted face value. I used Google and got almost 50% off for our long stay. They tried to say I couldn't get a better deal than the one they were offering me but when my online reservation came thru, as I did it right in front of them, they were shocked and sad but honored the online reservation. They only offer cheap coffee in the morning and vending machine snacks, nothing else. They clean and reset the rooms every other day but you can ask for more towels as needed. When we stayed there, we had a microwave and mini fridge, that helped out nicely. There are also ALOT of restaurant choices near by and has great freeway access. I gave it a 4 star rating ONLY because the room was clean and the in room amenities.

Lol, well, let's just say you get what you pay for, lol. Only plus about this motel was they have a smoking rooms and those are hard to come by these days. Checking in was easy with no issues, but the rooms needed work. 1st room they gave me, someone stole the power outlet to the TV, so i asked for another's room cause we wanted to watch TV. In the second room, the door knob wouldn't turn to get in the room. The 3rd room lol the key card on the door didn't work either. So my 4th was the charm, lol. So much for trying to watch TV in this place. The wifi sucks!!! Couldn't watch shit! You couldn't even use it on your pc. Too slow. I probably wouldn't book here again. 😕 it's just a quick fix hotel if you know what I mean.

Great location and best rates in town! Rooms are spacious and clean and everything functions well. Shower is nice and hot and towels are fresh. The bed (king size in the room my fiancé and I have been staying in) is super comfortable, and the bed linens are clean and soft. We also have a mini fridge in our room, which comes in handy so we can keep drinks and snacks cold, and then go heat them up in the microwave, which is located on the side room (laundry room), next to the lobby. There is also a nice-sized, flat screen tv with cable in the room.

It snowed quite a bit at one point during our stay, and the parking lot, sidewalks and exterior staircases had been well-maintained. The property is free of debris and appears to be neatly groomed from the outside.

The staff is friendly, proactive, helpful and knowledgeable. They are attentive to our needs and truly care about the customers’ satisfaction.

There is only one amenity I would like to see offered at this location, that is not currently available, and that is free WiFi. At one point in time (within the last year or two), this location did offer free WiFi with your stay, so I’m not sure why it is no longer available, but it would be great to have again.

Overall, the Motel 6 on Maplegrove in Willoughby, OH is a great place to stay and is an excellent choice for long or short-term stays, and you can’t beat the value. The location is fabulous, as it is right off of the I-90 Freeway, and just a quick, straight drive over to the Route 2 Freeway. There are plenty of stores and gas stations around as well; there is a new Sheetz gas station is right next door, and two 24 hour pharmacies: Walgreens and CVS, just up the road. It is also pretty quiet, surprisingly, given that it is a somewhat busy area. The location is safe, and the local police drive through the hotel parking lot pretty frequently.

Additionally, other hotels in the area charge a $50 security deposit and many won’t take cash for payment. This location doesn’t charge any security deposits (unless you have a pet, but it’s only a $50 deposit I believe, so it’s worth it, as you get the deposit back when you check out, provided there aren’t any damages done by your pet in the room - many other hotels in the area don’t even allow pets), they accept cash, and the rates are consistent, all making this hotel a great place to stay. I’ve stayed at several other hotels in the area, and the Motel 6 in Willoughby is by far the best choice and the best value. My fiancé and I will be back when we are needing a hotel in the NE Ohio area, and we will be sure to recommend it to our close friends and family, if and when they are looking for a hotel sometime in the area...

As I said in a very long email yesterday, the front desk staff upon check-in was less than hospitable, unwelcoming & they didn't seem like they cared weather we stayed there or not, there was another guest that spoke to us and said he had been there since 9am and stated to us that he was super mad about his check-in, it was 1:45pm at that time, I do not what the issue was for him. We were a bit early but thought we would check to see if room was ready yet, it was not and the girl said come back in half hour, we did...then she said come back in 10 min, we did...not ready, this went on until 3:25 when we finally got a room we just ran in dropped suitcase and jump in the car only to make it to the church for a wedding by 1 min, thanks to long drawn out check-in process and supposed rooms not ready. When we arrived back at the room midnight or so, we started to get ready for bed, I went to sit on toilet and fell right off due to seat not attached, the seat slid half way across the toilet ! As I gathered myself and finish, my friend and I are looking around and noticing and saying to each other what a dump this room is, IT FELT DIRTY and smelled, the bathroom floor was filthy, the shower looked like something you could only bathe a dog in, the dresser looked like it came from the curb, missing wood, dirty, the towel holder on the wall was crooked and looked as if it was going to fall off if bumped, there was no drain screen of any kind in the tub just a big fat dirty dark hole, the grout on the bathroom floor was black ! at this point we have decided to sleep in our clothes for a few hour and get up and RUN out the door, no shower, no nothing!! Before I left after waking, I did go to the front desk and showed a pic of the broken toilet seat to what the guy stated as being the manager on duty(also saw him the day before at check-in) I showed pic and asked him how he could rent a room with a broken toilet seat, he said he didn't know it was broken, I said wouldn't the housekeeper have put in a work order? needless to say he was LESS THAN CONCERNED, I couldn't wait to get as far away from the dirty lobby, room, sidewalks, missing wall and paint on facade of building as fast as I could and go wash that room off of me in a real shower. I completely...

We traveled to our hometown of Mentor, Ohio, for a reception and Total Eclipse party on April 7th. Sadly, we learned the hard way when planning our trip that this event would mean booked hotels at exorbitant amounts. Not only would the hotels we typically use when visiting family be booked, but the asking price was 200-400% over the usual nightly rate. Luckily ( or was it?), we found a Motel 6 nearby through Expedia. This hotel was even marked up 100%. We are well aware of the reputation that Motel 6 has among many travelers, and we have done our due diligence and checked reviews. Overall, the reviews were that this is a bare-bones but clean establishment. We booked the room and chose to pay upon check-in. Not long after doing so, our local news ran a story about hotels not honoring the booking rate if the room is not paid in advance. The payment at booking acts as a contract and must be honored. Rather than take a risk, we chose to call the hotel and pay for the room. When we arrived on the 7th, we found that the hotel had a change of ownership and no longer held the Motel 6 name. Still, our reservation was on file, but our payment was not. The attendant at the front desk assured me that if I found evidence of the payment, a refund would be honored, but his manager would need to take care of it. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The manager shared that he needed a record of the payment. We have one. Instead of accepting this, he suggested we refute the charge through Motel 6. We are still waiting. On top of this, we were given keys to a room that wasn’t ready on the second floor. We were reassigned to the first floor when we returned to the front desk. We found the room to be somewhat clean but very tired. Evidently, this was sometimes booked as a smoking room, and the smell was strong. This establishment is now Willow Lodge Extended Stay, and perhaps the room next to us had someone who lives there. From 2 a.m. until 5 a.m., the noise was unbearable. The television was loud, furniture was being moved around, and there was lots of noise. We were on the road before 6 a.m. Would we recommend this establishment?...
