Possibly one of the best Reuben's I've had in Cleveland. I got the king size and it really was just the right size and I like that it came hot to the table and the fries were also hot. Our waitress Sandy was a pure delight.
Thanks Wadi! I'll hold you to it! Hahaha
Third time was a charm. Alyssa was our waitress this time and she was a delight. Their homemade cheesecake is so good and I would say even gives Corky and Lenny's a run for their money. My Reuben came out steaming and was absolutely delicious. My friend Linda and Evie ordered a king sized corned beef to share and strangely it came out not even lukewarm. They sent it back and I asked that it wasn't just microwaved and instead a new sandwich be made. Alyssa took care of it and the next sandwich was perfect. I was surprised to discover the corned beef they use is not Vienna, but is instead Hillcrest. You learn something new everyday. The one issue I keep having is both their Coke and Pepsi products on the fountain are either too sweet or don't have enough carbonation. I really hope this issue is fixed because it's a real bummer to not be able to enjoy a soft drink with your Reuben.
Well Wadi we sadly won't be returning. I guess you could say the fourth time is not the charm. I ordered a jumbo Reuben and both the sandwich and the fries were at best lukewarm. When the waitress came back to our table I asked that it be remade not in the microwave and that I wanted a new sandwich. I said those very words "a new sandwich." When the sandwich came back out it was the manager who brought it and he was aggressive and rude and didn't even apologize. He just shoved the plate toward me and walked away. When I noticed that the corned beef had some hard ends I should have known it was reheated, but I stupidly ate it anyhow. When the waitress came back to the table I mentioned this to which she then explained they had taken the same corned beef from the first sandwich and put it on the grill. That is by no means a new sandwich and so she had the same manager come back and he was even ruder the second time. Honestly I don't care if I had eaten the sandwich because at $20 you'd think they could at the very least be apologetic, but nope this manager dug their heels in and was so rude. In fact my friend had an issue with her corned beef hash not being properly seasoned (she was smart and didn't eat it), but instead of just comping her for the hash he still charged her for the two eggs. Why are they nickle and diming customers? Why when the food comes out at best lukewarm is the manager not willing to offer some customer service instead of just being an a______. Thankfully the waitress was nice and got her twenty percent because why should she be chastised? So Wadi I am done. The fountain drinks are still not right and the manager when I suggested that he, at the very least, comp us two slices of cheesecake said no and then went to hide in the kitchen until we left. I understand why there is a now hiring sign in the window. There are far better delis around. I'd give this place a pass until they learn to actually value...
Read moreI recently had a late lunch at the Manhattan Deli Bar & Grille located on the north side of Ridge Road in the Pine Ridge Plaza in Willoughby, Ohio. The Plaza is a long strip mall with plenty of free off-street parking.
The Manhattan Deli Bar & Grille has a covered outdoor dining area facing the Pine Ridge Plaza parking lot. When you walk in the front door, there is a hostess station with a sign saying. "Please wait to be seated." To your left is a bar with seating at the bar and a few tables. There are two wall mounted TVs over the bar. The entrance to the outside seating is through this bar area.
Straight ahead from the hostess station is the dining area with booths along the wall to your right. There are, also, various size tables with chairs too. Straight to the back past the dining area is a passageway where the restrooms are located. To the left of the dining room is the kitchen behind a wall.
There is a curb cut/wheelchair ramp from the parking lot to the covered sidewalk. The restaurant's entrance and table seating are wheelchair accessible. The washrooms are, also, wheelchair accessible. The restaurant is clean.
My server is friendly and attentive. I started with a bowl of the Firehouse Chili topped with onions and cheese accompanied with Oyster Crackers. The bowl is huge and the chili is meaty with a nice spice level - not too hot. If you are not too hungry, the bowl of Firehouse Chili is enough for a meal.
I followed the bowl of Firehouse chili with a regular size portion of the Corn Beef Reuben on rye with a side of coleslaw. The Thousand Island dressing of the Reuben is served on the side. The Reuben sandwich is very tasty. There are generous portions of Corn Beef. The Rye bread is fresh. A tasty sandwich served with a pickle slice. The coleslaw is creamy. I added pepper to the coleslaw to my taste.
Manhattan Deli Bar & Grille has a lot of good looking dishes on the menu. Everyone in your party/group will find something for every taste. As I left, I looked at the dessert cakes in the display case. They all...

Let me tell you I was highly disappointed in the whole order I could have made these things at home 10x better my meal alone was extremely horrible I thought it was a portion for a child and I also thought it was dropped before it was bagged the soup had no taste the chilli was ok but needed salt and pepper the desserts was mid nothing spectacular quesadilla was 🫤 too much cheese not enough Chicken all in all it was MID!
