Berkot's Super Foods — Local services in Wilmington

This Berkots needs to be more proactive and inventory their shelves for expired food. I have shopped there several times and have recieved moldy outdated Bays English muffins, rotten lettuce, slimy chicken and rotten slimy mushrooms. It was pretty disgusting and a public health hazard.The Berkots in Braidwood is much better than the one in Wilmington. Update: 7/16/2024... Sent my husband to Berkots to pick up a few things today and this is what he came home with. Berkots produce dept is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Went in the morning. No registers were open. Only the customer service desk. When the person in front of me was helped the cashier then went to continue paperwork knowing that there was someone else in line needing to be helped and that there were no registers open. No matter when you go here you'll have a problem paying for your goods. If you go here in the evening there will be a Lollapalooza length ticket line and one register open and it was that way well before covid-19. This store can't seem to get rid of the dirty cat litter smell. Every time I go in this place it smells like dirty cat litter. This store has done alot over the past year to improve and, clean up. Store management seems like they care. I do understand this is a older store, But this location needs a complete remodel. The Deli is always a hit or miss. I don't like how the deli case is set up foods touch. I don't like the condition of the kitchen when I do go to buy stuff the deli kitchen is always a mess. I was able to find cowboy caviar once there, But I haven't been able to buy it since. The freshness of food honestly is okay but...
