Terrible Staff. Me and my friends like to bike to Smithfield's and Big Lots in Ogden. Today my friend and I biked there to see what treasures we might find. I noticed that we did not have a bike lock and we both have very expensive bikes. I walked my bike inside and leaned it up against an empty wall out of the way in hopes that nobody would steal it if it was inside. I was then told by a lady in her late thirties/early forties with short dark hair that "bikes stay outside". I tried to explain to her that my friend and I did not have a lock and she said, "bikes still stay outside". I begrudgingly walked it back out onto the sidewalk exposed to whoever wanted it and wished for the best. It was thankfully not stolen, but theres another part to this. While I was in there I purchased a Rubbermaid scrubber for grout and sinks. We were in a rush so I bought it and biked home to find it did not work. It would not do anything. Upon further inspection I noticed the package was damaged and had been STAPLED back together. It had obviously been returned. My question is why would you put an item back on the shelf that someone obviously returned because it did not work? The people working here need to be...
Read moreThis store was clean and well laid out. It's easy to find things, and the merchandise is marked well ( prices, etc.. ). The staff were nice and helpful. The selection of merchandise is large. That all said, the most confusing aspect of the store is the pricing. This is a "discount" themed store. Frankly, there were and are some real bargains to be had, but some items were priced very oddly on the high side. For Instance 20oz Gatorade drinks (singles, not refrigerated) were priced at nearly $3 ( sams club sells a case of 24 for around $18(~$0.75 per bottle) at the time of this review). I would expect those prices at a convenience store or gas station, not a discount department store. This is just one example, but I found many items in the store with oddly high prices. I would caution shoppers to be wary and shop with care. Overall it's a good store and I had a good...
Read moreMy fiancé and I (we are in our late 20’s) were shopping and walked into the furniture department. We passed two employees at the doorway who said nothing. Tried three couches, still no greeting or offer to help. An older woman walks in with two heathen children and gets a complete greeting and offer for help before she even steps in the building. After waiting another couple of minutes sitting on a couch and watching her kids jump on the furniture we left. Needless to say, EVERY customer deserves the same respect you give to everyone else. Regardless of whether you think they are just young kids that don’t have money or won’t be buying. As for us, we spent our money at Ashley Furniture and got QUALITY service and furniture that won’t fall apart...
