Smh. I'm not really sure what is up with the bad reviews here. My family and I have been coming here for years. The owners are really great people, even if he did go to Laney instead of Hanover lol. But all jokes aside, this is the only Chinese buffet that I will go to. The food is always hot and tastes delicious. This was actually the first restaurant my husband and I went to a few years ago after I had my son. He was quiet the whole time until we started to eat, then he just wanted to be held. So of course we are holding our less than 1 month old trying to calm him and eat our food. The owners wife (who I didn't really know very well at the time) who is also the main waitress came to our table and asked could she hold our son. She then proceeded to walk around the restaurant checking on the other customers while keeping our son calm. It may not seem like much, but to new first time parents, she was literally a Godsend that night. Lol the Olive Garden used to be our favorite restaurant, but Szechuan is definitely our favorite.
People, if there is a problem with your food why not say something to the owner at the time so the situation can be rectified? Cause I can guarantee you that is not a normal occurrence.
Also if they were changing out food on the buffet, why would you allow your kid to stand there if you know there is a chance of getting burned? Like seriously?...
Read moreStopped to try this little place after reading on another review that there was more seafood than chinese. I must begin with the fact that there are no signs posted anywhere inside the restaurant with prices for the buffet or to go. So if you stop there to eat, make sure to ask first.đ I say this because at the counter paying for my meal, I was surprised with the total. On the Saturday I went, I was charged $15.78 per person during lunch hours which totaled $37 for 2 people and two drinks. I felt like it was a little too much.đ¤ Overall, the food was okay, but the selection was somewhat limited. There were seafood items like cheese mussels, coconut shrimp, fried fish, 2 dishes with shrimp and vegetables. And some very small crab legs. There were only 2 buffet bars with hot food. There was a third with fruits and dessert. There were a few sushi rolls on this bar too and a tray with raw shrimp. And an ice cream bar with 3 containers of ice cream. Vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. So it seemed to me like it wasnt the best value. The positive thing about the visit was that our server was super attentive and kept checking on our table often.đ Not sure if I would return to...
Read moreAnyone rating this FINE establishment less than 5 stars is obviously not in their right mind. Szechuan buffet is not a restaurant, it is a whole friggin experience. Not one Chinese buffet comes even close, to what Szechuan has to offer. Not by miles baby.
A wise animated fish in search of food once said, âfood, water, ATMOSPHERE!â I really believe the fish had tried Szechuan buffet at some point in his youth, and yearned for its grace again, so he searched the lands and oceans to find it once more.
Personally, I can relate. Even if I had eaten here and gone home, I would only think of that General Tso piping hot on the bar. Itâs a thought that sticks to me this day. Even 13 years later and more than 500 miles away, I have to constantly prevent myself from driving 6 hours and 53 minutes back to Wilmington. I often wake up behind the wheel of my car in the driveway, having no knowledge of how I got there, wallet at the ready. Itâs literally that good, do not argue with me on this.
