Best shopping experience I could have ever hoped for. SIX STARS.
I came here because I knew that they would have some staff that could help me, unlike a lot of other clothing stores that don't really offer much help. I knew I needed help and I was not disappointed. I needed a nice dress shirt for an important interview. I'm terrible at shopping because I just get overwhelmed with choices and it always takes me forever to get the job done. Usually I leave feeling uncertain that I've made the right product choice in the end. Well that didn't happen on this trip.
Right at the door there was someone there to greet me. Unfortunately I didn't get her name, but she was about 5'7", light mocha colored skin tone, blonde curly hair, with thick framed glasses. I wanted to be sure she gets recognition for her helpfulness. She was working in a completely different department than the one I needed. But when I explained my situation she gladly walked me to the men's shirts, showed me all the different areas to look, answered some questions about fabric, and introduced me to the staff that actually works in the department I needed.
From there, another wonderful employee took over, who's name I did get. Susan S, if I'm not mistaken. She spent what had to have been 45 minutes helping me pick not one, but two shirts and a tie for my important interview. She was able to answer all my questions about fabric and durability and comfort and heat/moisture concerns. She found multiple options that were my size to try on. She found me the perfect tie, which I wasn't even looking for initially. And she did all this with genuine pleasure while simultaneously helping other customers. I never felt rushed or like a burden and really felt far more valuable as a customer than I have at any other time in my life. It was truly a remarkable shopping experience. And I don't even really like shopping.
AND I totally nailed the interview and got the job! Was super comfortable in that shirt the whole time.
I really wanted to brag about these two people. They were amazing professionals that deserve recognition. They were the whole reason I came to Dillard's in the first place. I knew there would be helpful staff at this store, but I didn't know they'd be the most helpful staff I could possibly ever wish for. This is what sets your store apart from the Walmarts and Amazons. I hope your business continues to thrive. You've definitely got me hooked as a future customer. When I need something that you guys carry I'll be coming to you first. Thanks for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlthough in the past my experiences shopping at Dillardās has been most positive, however , my recent experience has been most discerning . My intention was to purchase a couple of items I had selected from the āSales rackā. At the cash register the 1st lady tried to price the items but the total on the terminal did not reflect the prices on the items. Subsequently, another salesperson arrived and immediately pulled off several stickers on one itemās price tag. (This item had several pink stickers indicatingā various prices covering the original non sale price along with yellow stickers with bar codes.). She then priced the items and advised me of the total due. The total was double in which I had expected to pay. I said that the one item was not correct and that she had pulled all the stickers off. She stated that it had been marked wrong probably by a customer an that the correct price was indicated on the bar code. I did speak to a manager on duty and he stated that Dillardās was not responsible for the incorrect pricing on the item. I find this attitude unacceptable. The item was on the Sales rack, it had several stickers on it indicating various pricing. I did not know or have any inclination that the price on the tag was inaccurate. The manager insisted that Dillard ās would not honor the tag. It was clear that he did not believe that Dillardās had any responsibility in honoring the price on the tag. The manager only continuing statement was that ā a customer placed the sticker on the tagā. My my there must have been several customers having access to store stickers, and also, one might assume there had been previous attempts to purchase. If so why was the item not properly priced and removed from the sale rack? My guess is that Dillardās has in some instances a bait and switch practice. It is clear the 2 employees were arrogant and void of any commitment to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI live an hour and a half away, with traffic. My daughter found a homecoming dress but there was only 1 in her size. We found this out about 6pm on Monday so we call customer service. The person at the Wilmington store would not hold it until The next day when we could get there so we paid for it over the phone. Next day we drive there and immediately we see adorable dresses at the door we entered for my granddaughter so I pick 2 I like most and decide to think about them while we find out where to get the dress we already paid for. We get that and she tries it on, perfect fit! We go back down the escalator to look at shoes but I dont know where they are so I ask the cashier in girls and she says, "you can come let me ring up those 2 dresses. I say excuse me and she repeats it, with customers at her register. I replied, I haven't decided if I want to get them yet and I asked where womens shoes are. She says that way and as im walking away she says, "my manager is here" not sure what that has to do with anything bc I HAVE ONLY MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE and I am appalled by how I was treated. Maybe they think the only ppl that can afford their items have full glam but it was my day off and that has no relevance on what I can afford. That dress my 15 year old got cost $130 and if she didn't love it so much I would have returned it right then. Needless to say I put the $60 dresses back bc I wont even spend another dollar in a store that has even 1 employee that treats ppl that way. Tho...
