Read moreWent to this mall yesterday and we are from out of town. Out of the 12 stores we visited, only 4 of them greeteted me. They were Indigo Sol, Express, The Shoe Dept, and Justice. However 7 stores greeted my fiance with the utmost respect. I can only assume it's because he's much older, so therefore he looked like he had the money. The first store we went in was Belk. We walked by 3 or 4 associates that were having their own conversation and they didn't even acknowledge us as we walked by. So I started looking at the Vince Camuto cologne to purchase for my man. He wondered off to another cologne counter and that's when the vultures came. Not 1 but 2 sales women started trying to sell my man cologne, but he wasn't the one buying. When the sales women notice that we were a couple, that's when they tried to sell me perfumes. I worked in retail sales and I never treated anyone the way that I was treated. Read morePost pandemic review: Surprisingly a lot of stores are open and doing well. I just went there during the holiday season and it seems like it is a thriving mall all over again. All the talk about online sales maybe true, but it's also true that instant gratification is something that we love. People love going into a store and in 5 minutes walking away with what they wanted, no waiting for delivery or paying delivery charges. I guess all old things become new again if you wait long enough. From my personal experience, the mall is also a great place to get into the holiday season spirit if you're not already there. Everything will be decorated and everybody will be merry. You may even see Santa Claus!
