HORRIBLE!!!! They're ALWAYS out of stuff...ALWAYS!! Went literally for 1thing..cottage cheese, didn't care if it was 2%..4%...I would've even settled for ricotta but NOPE!! They were out of ALL of it!! Crazy thing is I was literally across the street from the Acme in Trolley but I decided Save-A-Lot would be cheaper. So I drove past my house at the opposite end of Mrylnd Ave to go to Save-A-Lot & ended up with NOTHING!! I can't tell you the amt of times I've gone there for only hamburger meat and they're out..prob 10x's. To the point that I now call 1st. If you know as the person placing the orders that you constantly run out of hamburger meat prior to your next delivery what do you think the intelligent thing is to do? ORDER MOREš WOW what a crazy concept!! I think the person doing the ordering at the Marylnd Ave Save-A-Lot NEEDS to be fired!! & if it's the Mgr than that's just pathetic bc they should have experience & know how to keep their products in stock. Deliveries are on Tues's so do NOT go on Sun or Mon bc most likely they won't have what you need!! The other thing...God forbid you just want to buy 1 or a cpl items. 95% of the time there's 1 register open regardless if the 3 people in front of you have an entire cart full!! Sometimes 2registers IF you're lucky. All of the female cashiers are miserable! They don't say Hi, have a good day, thanks...NOTHING!! AMAZING cust.service ladies!! There's 1younger male cashier that is so refreshing...& is polite, cheerful & knows how to treat customers! Maybe he could...

A lot of the people in these stores have also been there for quite a long time. I was the same, working here for ages. Time stands still even when it's still moving.
But enough existential thought. This shopping center has some nice features if you can look past the dated exterior and the occasional drunk panhandler, which you can find pretty much anywhere these days. They have the best taco place that I know of and the ladies there will take good care of you. There's rite aid where it seems like I go to more often than I wish. Pamper yourself at the nail salon which gets a lot of repeat business. There's Boxwood Liquors where they sell seasonal brews and familiar favorites. Can get busy during football season. They also can offer suggestions if you're not sure what to pick up. Next door is the cigarette and lottery store. Very busy during football season, especially if theres an Eagles game. Oh, and Deerhead Hotdogs, where you can enjoy good food and they always have a game on. Rounding it out is the barbershop, where I go to get clipped.
This is your neighborhood shopping center, where all of your neighbors go. Sometimes that's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn all 3 of my trips, weekdays 6-8pm, there was at least 1 group of talkative, loudish people who made no effort to disguise they were 2-3 young "working girls" asking permission for everything from a slightly older male "manager," often leading to arguments. I would NEVER bring children to this store. I suppose it's possible it was the same group each time, shopping for that day's dinner, but I'm still not going back.
Great prices but few to no name brands, even in candy and soda. LONG, inexplicable check out lines leading to thawed freezer items. Great deals on meat nearing its Sell-By/Expiration Date, usually in...
