Iâm not a heavy laptop userâlots of typing, some streaming, no gaming. Therefore, my computer service needs are also modest. But when something does come up (and something always will, because it's a laptop), I take it to DJM. - I first met Damian two years ago over a battery charging problem that had me worried I had broken the whole machine. My first review of his prompt response and great service is below. (BTW, in that review, the other âpotential causeâ my laptop had previously had was âme sitting on it.â) - This new issue was a bit more involved--the laptop was slowing down, with increasingly frequent warnings that my C: drive was running out of free space. Damianâs simple suggestion was a new, larger drive, and he helped me right-size and right-price the replacement part based on my needs. Then he completed the work and had my machine ready for pickup in two days, including the waiting time for the ordered part to arrive. The total cost was maybe twenty percent of what I originally paid for the laptop five years ago. â So, once again, my use is moderate, and I donât need much. But when I need something, DJMâs my place.

   Read moreAfter four hours on the phone and getting absolutely no help from Costco or HP Support, I gave up. HP Support said my screen issue was my fault, that I had dropped my laptop (I hadn't) and Costco was not going do a thing for me even though my laptop was still under warranty. So I declined the $280 charged (plus shipping to and from) for HP to repair it and searched online and found Damian. He saw instantly that my little sliding camera cover had cracked the screen--so it was, indeed, my fault. But while HP would have had it for several weeks and I would have, as I said, had to pay shipping, Damian fixed it within a week and I got off at $5 less, for which I was supremely happy. ESPECIALLY that I was not giving my money to HP. So I brought my other old laptop to Damian afterward--slow, clunky, glitchy--and he installed a new solid state hard drive, cleaned everything up, and I now feel like I have a brand new laptop! I have been through four different shops in Newark, and all of them leave much to be desired. Then I found DMJ Computer Repair. Problem solved. Damien is the real deal. He is trustworthy and reliable. He provided quick and efficient quality service in contrast to the others, who I found to be seriously untrustworthy and incompetent. Update 2025: What on earth!? I took my LG laptop in after not one, but two LG support techs 100% failed miserably to get to the bottom of the issue with my device. They had no clue. I watched Damien open the laptop, discover the issue within 60 seconds, and resolve this issue completely inside of 5 minutes! Hello!? Seriously, I don't see how anyone would regret hiring Damien to fix...
