Ive used Tavernay's many times. Guy is such a pleasure to deal with, such a nice guy! He is professional, helpful and always tries to make time to talk to you. He is also always, ALWAYS smiling and welcoming. I trust him more than any other jeweler that Ive dealt with. This is a place with true integrity- unlike several others here in town. Id trust him with my gems any time and not think twice or worry about getting back what I left with them. The ladies at the counter are great also. Everyone is just so friendly and professional. This is why I believe that this store has earned its following as it seems to have quite a few regulars. The only reason I haven't been back is because sadly in the end, the work is just cost prohibitive. The fees are higher than other jewelers that Ive dealt with compared to the quality and the turn around time is quite long. Simple repairs like sizing (even going down in size) are just astoundingly high and often add- ons are done without prior approval.I do not believe they are out to gouge, they are just high to begin with. Unfortunately you can literally wait weeks for a simple sizing or repair job. They are busy and their staff is limited. The repairs that Ive had done are of decent quality- not poorly done but definitely not high, master jeweler quality either. Sometimes Guy does the work himself and sometimes another of his jewelers will. The quality is the same no matter what. I do recommend this place all things considered. Tavernays has exceeded any and all expectations that I thought I had. If you are searching for a reputable, honest, and talented jeweler - look no more. They are the best I have ever worked with. The work they do is nothing short of absolutely amazing and the staff/artists are the most kind and honest people. They care about what ideas you have, and are truthful about what will work. They took my ideas and turned them into the most beautiful pieces of jewelry I have ever seen (I still can’t believe I get to wear them every day!). When other local jewelers and jewelry stores failed to follow-up with our inquiry regarding changing and upgrading the setting of my current engagement ring, Clair and Tavernay's provided excellent service from the moment we walked into their store. She gave me her own cell phone number and from day 1 we texted and communicated almost every day, sharing pictures back and forth of what we wanted and what she could do for us. She was forever patient with me and timely in answering all my questions, and I can be VERY particular and thorough!
