UPDATE on this review 12/9/14: The store manager, Samantha, called me today and wanted to know the version of the story, she apologized and told me that what happened was uncalled for, and refunded me $40 back of the $95 I paid. She also offered to refix the PS3 for free, but I have already fix it. Glad to know that at least there is someone in that store who cares about their customers.
My husband took our PS3 to fix at CPR at the beginning of Nov, 2014 they charged us $95 for the repair and told us it will take three days to fix. They returned it back, supposedly fixed, the next day. I remember asking the sales associate at the counter before I picked up the repaired system if they offer any type of warranty on their work. He told me that because it was not a system repair but just a “tune up” or “reflow” as they call it, that there was absolutely no guarantees offered on the work they just performed. He then proceeded to tell me that if something went wrong anytime soon, to bring it back and they will re-take a look at it. If I knew there were absolutely no guarantees on their work, I would have never left the system there to fix. I reluctantly picked up my PS3 and left the store with it supposedly fixed.
LESS THAN A MONTH later, December 6th, 2014 the system died on me again unexpectedly. It was having the exact same problem as before I took it to CPR. The red light of death came on, and the system will not stay on. I called CPR, talked to a guy name Matt on the phone, told him it will not stay on and that there was Red Box disc inside of it, I needed out ASAP. Matt told me to bring it over that they would look at it. I drove for 45 minutes, got to the store and asked the associate behind the counter if he was Matt, he said not but that he could help me. I explained the situation, and he immediately proceeded to tell me that there were no guarantees on the work, and that if I wanted it fix again, I will have to pay another fee. I told him that was ridiculous, that why should I pay again for something I had repaired with them less than a month ago. I asked him if instead they could just pop the blue ray disc that was stuck on it. He proceeded to tell me that for them to do that, there was a charge of $55, UNBELIEVABLE!! Charge me $55 for something that took 15 minutes to do myself after watching a youtube video. I asked where the manager was, and he told me she was not at the store, that she will be in the next day. Wow, a store operating without a manager on duty, shows great customer service right there. I did not want to keep arguing so I just went ahead and left the store.
When I was getting ready to leave in my car, another store employee, with shoulder-long black hair and scruffy beard and mustache, came out of the store with a blank form, and said that was their contract, and every customer signs it before they have work performed by them. It was just, a piece of paper saying that they do not guarantee any work they consider just a “tune up.” I was pretty mad at this point so I raised my voice and told him that I did not sign that piece of paper, and I would have never left t my system for repair there if I knew there were no guarantees on it. He yelled back at me and told me not to raise my voice at him. I told him what a rip off their company is and that the fix they supposedly did on the PS3, lasted less than a month. At that point he yelled back “F%$# you! and walked back inside the store. WOW not only a RIP OFF when it comes to “fixing” video game systems but also HORRENDOUS...
Read moreI thought after 1st getting my daughter's iPhone back from them they did good quality work but weeks after getting my iPhone back from them it starts to mess up again then 2 months later does the same thing I thought they fixed. They say they offer a limited life time warranty but that is a joke because upon taking the device back to them they say they can't honor the warranty because of a few little scratches on the phone. And then want me to pay another $200.00 to get fixed again. But yet I could take it back to Verizon Wireless and do an insurance claim but should not have to because I paid them to fix it which they obviously did not do correctly and also its suppose to have a warranty. Also tries to call them back during business hours yesterday and never answered the phone. Finally after trying to call multiple times an employee finally returned my phone call. But I told them thanks but I had already called different location and was able to get my issue resolved because the warranty is nationwide.
12/09/2022 Phone is still having same issue tried to come to Wilmington location again so I could save myself the drive and once again they do not want to honor there warranty. And to say any Cell phone repair location was going to say the same thing to me was WRONG because I drove to a different location and they fixed my phone that day did not even take them 15 mins. They honored the warranty because clearly there was no damage to the phone. So again I will be making a trip to a different location to have the warranty honor. I highly recommend staying away from the Wilmington location. I paid $200 to this location for nothing. Because clearly I was right to being with because like I said a different location fixed the device because there was no damage and its going to be the same thing this time. I honestly will never again deal with the Wilmington location and I highly recommend others looking to have there devices fixed avoid the Wilmington...
Read moreMy iPhone 13 Pro needed screen replacement service due to an accident that resulted in a minor crack. I called around to many repair shops in Wilmington and the gentleman that I spoke with at CPR boasted about their “lifetime warranty” on repairs. When I asked him what my options were for screen replacements, he said CPR offered very high-quality aftermarket screens for $219 plus tax, or a genuine Apple OEM replacement screen for around $379 plus tax. When I asked if the aftermarket screen was the same quality/durability as the Apple OEM screen I was told “yes”. Ultimately, I decided to have them install an aftermarket screen which was cheaper but ultimately turned out to be of much, much less quality than the Apple OEM screen. The aftermarket screen was extremely jittery, had color issues, and a lack of touch sensitivity. After further research I realized that I could have had the screen replaced by an Authorized Apple Repair Center (CPR IS NOT AN AUTHORIZED APPLE REPAIR CENTER, but Best Buy is) using a genuine Apple screen for just a little more money than what I paid for the aftermarket screen. I went back to CPR to ask them to replace the screen with an Apple OEM screen and I was told I would have to pay the difference or $180+ dollars on top of the $220+ dollars that I had already paid for the low-quality knock-off screen they offered as a “high-quality replacement”. After debating with the man at the desk for quite a while about how they mislead me about the aftermarket screen quality, I ultimately had to give in and pay what they demanded for the Apple OEM screen because I could not take the phone to be repaired at an Authorized Apple Repair Center without a screen. Do yourself a big favor and avoid this strip-mall cell phone repair wasteland. Pay a few more dollars for a genuine Apple replacement part at an Authorized Apple Repair Center. Don’t spend your hard-earned money on the cheap aftermarket eBay garbage they...
