I went in and bought a refurbished notebook from All Systems. I needed to for college. Upon purchasing it, I brought it home and turned it on. The first thing was the virus protection just expired and wanted me to renew it.
I also tried to download a words document only to discover this notebook didn't even have a word processor on it. Really? I was paying $360 for a notebook that didn't even have a word processor on it? So I download MS Student Outlook
. I had the notebook for not even a month and when I tried to turn it on one day it just gave me a black screen with a mouse. I wasn't impressed at all with this.
I wasn't happy to see that on the amount I was investing that I had to purchase a word processor and now update a virus protection in not even a month. I didn't like Explorer and Downloaded Fire Fox. Then my notebook wouldn't start up at all. I thought this purchase was crazy. I just kept getting a black screen for start up. and was just frustrated.
The note book was brought back to All Systems repair with the a note telling them what was wrong how I didn't download anything but the word processor from a legit sight and fire fox. The owner gave me a call and told me he would make things right and that it sounds like the hard drive crashed. Really, why would the device crash when you guys fixed it? He was a very nice fellow and I was willing to give him a chance.
My mother went over to pick up the notebook and had just a rude interaction. First of all saying the reason the notebook crashed was my fault. Considering that I haven't done one thing to this device but put on an word processor and internet browser? I found that rather insulting. He then told my mother that if it happened again we were going to get charged. I told them to keep the notebook.
I just felt out of that, if I bought something refurbished it was just sad. I could get a new notebook for the same price and have more on it, I thought I would give a local business a chance. But it turned out lacking a word processor was just wrong. When I heard about the transaction that went down, just spoke volumes. Why would I want to bring home a notebook I am always going to worry about. that I cannot download anything on and just have it crash on me to hear this company say hey it's your fault.
I would rather by a new one then to deal with a sleazy sale tactic like that. This company will maybe fix your notebook. But based on my experience. It's used parts so you can go in and get it fixed for a price. Don't waste your time. Purchase a new one. Stay...
Read moreI LOVE this place. I usually work with Alex, who has a calm and accepting demeanor and is a pro at under-promising/over-delivering. He is SO FAIR on pricing, and does his best to give you as many options as possible to fit your situation. I'm definitely a super happy customer and will refer others and definitely go back whenever I need help.
-He helped me resolve why a home-made PC build wasn't firing up within a few minutes -He helped me sort my laptop's blue screen issues directly, and then resolved a follow up issue without complaint right away, and he managed to get my machine back to me right before an important meeting requiring tons of installs.
After he worked on it, my computer runs like a dream, and can handle all the stress I put it through without issue.
If you need help, skip the big stores and head to All Systems, I can bet you'll get kinder faster service at a...
Read moreI am usually really good with my machines- I've run Linux almost exclusively since 2010 and I've worked in the past as an IT guy, but I had recently moved and didn't have the time, the tools, or, in this case, the knowledge to handle the latest problem. I dropped it off with them and they did their free diagnosis thing, and it turned out that the problem was so easy to fix that they just did it for me and charged $40- minimum shop fee.
They went to the effort of researching my specific motherboard and told me all about how other ones like mine are holding up to the test of time. I know what to look out for and which components are starting to show wear and tear. I'll be coming to them again if I ever need help.
edit: I went to them again last winter. Long story short, do not trust them with...
