** MUST READ * ThE MiNOR vs.STORE MANAGER…. The manager Mike at the game stop store in Winston Salem NC. On Hanes Mill Rd. Took full advantage of my 12 yr old minor child. He innocently came into the store eager to request a refund on a new game that was purchased 2 days ago for his birthday! Along with a few other games that he wanted to just do a simple trade in value for, since he no longer plays those other older games. So instead, the store manager ignored my child’s request for a refund on his new video game , and only gave him a $1.90 cash value trade-in on a brand new game instead of the full refund requested. He knew what he was doing preying on a kid . We had the receipt that shows all info, price and date regarding that new game which was still in good condition and in its same original new packaging. The only reason my son even wanted a refund for this 1 new game was because it was needing mre storage space on his PS4 than he had available in order for that game to be played . So it already hurt his feelings to have to ask for a refund. Cause that was his birthday gift that he really wanted. In this case, this was a true definition of the phrase “Its like taking candy from a baby”. Cause what since dose it make for my child to request $1.90 for his birthday game as a trade in verses getting a full refund and then just getting another new 2024 game that he could play. Even if it meant me having to add more money to that refund for another game that he may have wanted. My son & that crooked store manager understand and knew that the game has a higher value in it for a FULL REFUND . But he (manager ) still chose to ignore that and give him a trade- in value of just $1.90 for his game. SMH!! That manager has basically taken his video game/b-day gift and manipulated my child. Cause , my child’s dad didn't get a chance to make it into the store to over see the process until the end of the transaction. Says my son and the dad. That store manager is a liar and manipulative to minors . Pls be with your child if you choose to still shop there cause he’s got predator tendencies and the people should be warned. It makes you wonder what else could have happened if no one...
Read moreI cannot believe this company is still in business, they overcharge you and could careless about customer service. I came into this store just the other day to purchase a power supply cord for my xbox 360 only to get home and find out it doesnt even work, so not only did I spend FOURTY DOLLARS on a USED CORD that I couldve bought new for $12 on ebay, but they sent me out the door without confirming it even worked, also while i was there i purchased 2 games only to find out once the power supply didnt work that I was done trying to fix my system and instead went out and bought a new xbox one. I called and explained the issue with the power supply they sold me and the guy nicely said to return it for my moneyback and I did so with no problems. However, a few days later I realized that one of the games I had purchased the same day as the power supply was not backwards compatible with my xbox one so I made another trip to gamestop looked around for another game I was interested in and then took it to the counter and said I wanted to return it for the other game and the lady behind the counter told me that I could only trade it in and then started pushing me to buy the pro membership which I did not care about, another member overheard our conversation and came over to help assist since this lady clearly has no idea what shes talking about so I told the guy I was trying to return this pre-owned game I purchased for $15 for a different game and he told me as long as you have your receipt we can return it for you so I said ok sweet I have it in my wallet, only to open my wallet and realize the other associate from the previous day never gave me my receipt back when I returned the power supply, therefore I got screwed. WAY TO GO GAMESTOP, YOU'VE LOST...
Read moreWish I could could give zero stars because thats how I feel about this place. I went to buy my son a Nintendo Switch for Christmas. Had a nice, friendly conversation with the employee and he asked me for my email address during checkout. I thought it was odd he asked but I assumed it was related to a relatively expensive purchase in case I returned the item. A couple of days later I was checking my personal email and saw a message saying welcome to Gamestop Pro, your membership will auto renew in December of 2025. I went to look at my receipt and the worker charged me $23 for a membership I never agreed to sign up for. He never told me what Gamestop Pro is nor did he ask me if I wanted it, just asked me for my email and charged me for it. Thats is just straight up stealing from a customer and it should not be legal. Absolutely disgusting behavior. In case management cares about this review, which I doubt they do because I'm sure they condone and incentivize stealing from customers, according to my receipt, the person who stole $23 from me is named John with an ID of 309425. I'm grateful that I can have $23 stolen from me and it not impact my life but I imagine they do the same theft to struggling parents trying to buy something nice for their kid and they are out on some cash they desperately needed. I would love for management to reach out to me and refund my money because at the end of the day, your store took it without me agreeing to it which is theft. If you are a potential new customer to this store like I was, go somewhere else and make sure you buy a game system with digital downloads so you can cut these thieves out of the purchase process...
