Konnichiwa — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

MUST READ** I am a regular customer who always get a Togo highway 9 roll. At least 2 times a week. About 2 weeks ago I went in to buy two orders when I arrived my sushi roll was ready with my boxes left open. Being that I work in the food industry I figured since they were a little busy they would get to it and I didn’t mind waiting.

25 min later and I’m still looking at my sushi sitting out so when they tried to serve it to me I explained to them everything I just stated and didn’t feel comfortable eating it and asked if they minded making another order.

He snatched the bag slammed it back on the counter and started speaking in their language. I might not understand but I do understand body language and tone of voice I was told I needed to wait an extra 30 min. I had things to do so I left.

A week later I call back to give them another chance and as I’m placing my order I was asked if I’m the same person who ordered previously and didn’t take the food then hung up on me. I called back assuming it was an accident for my call to be ignored.

I called back from a different number and they immediately answered in which I told them that’s wrong and now yes I will leave this review. Your food can be good all day but if you have no respect for the customers who are putting money into your business and who decided to give you another chance you will reap. This world is too cruel for unnecessary hate.

The customer is not always right and I know that first hand but at the same time as a business who serves food cooked and raw, food safety is extremely important and this establishment just seems to want their money not caring about food safety or customer service.

Came in with hype about the food and service, only to leave beyond disappointed. Came in around 7pm and they were not even 50% capacity, waited a few minutes to be seated. No problem. Waiter seats us, asks if we’ve been before, we say no and heard a lot of great things.. gets drink orders, comes back to take food order 10 min later with no drinks. Another 20 minutes go by, we get our food (others who have come after us have gotten drink, appetizers and food by the same waiter) and the waiter doesn’t say anything and walks away, I ask him about our drinks he basically motions with his hand to wait. Brings drinks, never returns. Another waitress gave us our bill, after we had to ask.. food was okay. Not worth the 15 minute drive where there’s at least 5 closer establishments. Hate to leave 1 star, but I feel as if we received 1...

I just had one of the best sushi experiences I've ever had at Konnichiwa in Winston-Salem. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The O’toro sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth perfection—unbelievably fresh, rich, and buttery. Every dish was beautifully presented and prepared with clear attention to detail.

But what truly sets this place apart is the service. The staff made me feel genuinely welcome, and their knowledge and passion for the menu came through in every recommendation. This level of hospitality is rare to find, especially in North Winston, and it deserves to be celebrated.
