Absolutely poorly cared for gravesites. Ancestors with perpetual care are ignored in favor of new cemetery sides and plots as well as an obvious focus on building a new Mausoleum and selling new graves. Office Staff Are extremely rude, especially an older woman who manages the office for years. She will never look you in the eyes and requests to replace dead plants are ignored. Lots of lip service about replacing dead plants with perpetual care that NEVER HAPPENS! It is shameful.
The bathroom is a disgrace and has been for the past ten years. The wallpaper is torn off the walls incompletely, the soap dispenser is always empty and there -are never paper towels. Whenever I ask for soap and towels, I hear" the cleaning crew is supposed to replace that." Frankly, is it that hard to have the office staff go in the bathrooms in the morning to check these daily before families in mourning or in sadness arrive? (Since Endowed Care means nothing I tend to be covered in dirt from caring for my ancestors' graves and have no soap to wash the dirt of the graves off.). The vanity has rust stains and it's a complete embarrassment to those who entrusted their final resting place to be a place of peace and serenity, maintained for future generations in perpetuity.
Although this is hallowed ground, the cemetery, no longer under the care of the Jewish Elders who watched over them, clearly has evolved into a business . The focus is on on incoming as opposed to people who spent their hard earned money in their lifetime to take care of their relatives, children and loved ones. It is nothing short of an embarrassment to those entreated with the responsibility of fulfilling a promise to our ancestors .
Don't bother complaining about dead plants not being replaced because all you will get his lip service. If you want The graves to look nice it best to plant yourself or hire someone to do it. I find it disgraceful in every way and the staff to be ineffectual, rude and unempathic.
I give this a minus one star for what was once a place of respect and lamentation that has become a disgrace to a promise and covenant made long ago and paid for with perpetual care that has long since...
Read moreUpon a recent visit, I went to the office to report that all the ground coverings need to be replaced as they were dead. I was informed that unless I had reported it by march 15th, they could not be replaced until the fall. Where is this date communicated? Additionally during March how would one know if they are dead or dormant. When I inquired if I could hire a 3rd party to remove the dead plantings. I was informed that they would charge me $400. This is a business that takes advantage of families at their most vulnerable times. They are very willing to take your money but will do everything to avoid taking action thereafter. Very sad how they take advantage and seem ok with it. Sorry that my great grandparents, grandparents, and my mother and father are buried there.
The way this place takes care of your loved ones is so bad that I just copied and pasted someone else’s review. Same neglect everywhere. So sad. They had no problem selling endowed care at my lowest point in life. Why should I even have to go through this for my family. Haven’t we all been through enough. I received better care from Abbey Glen when...
Read moreBoth my parents and brother are buried at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. I personally get no solace from going to their graves, but rather look at photos of happy times shared. I do however go once a year during the period around the high holy days. I was shocked, appalled, sad, and very very angry when I got to their gravesites. The upkeep was nonexistent! Their markers were completely covered with dead, dry grass, and I could not even read the name on my mothers marker. It made me sick!! Office was closed, but they will be hearing from me!!! We have perpetual care, and it is obvious to me that nobody has done anything to maintain the gravesites. I expect the cemetery out of respect to the deceased and those living relatives to keep all markers clean and free of overgrown, dead grass! You should be ashamed of the upkeep, or lack of it!!!!
