I went there yesterday on my Birthday... I ordered an entree off the hibachi menu, a sushi plate and a ramen noodle soup off the regular menu... I was enjoying my food until I tasted the Ramen Noodle soup... As soon as the server brought me the Noodle soup I only took one spoon of it and I did not like the way it tasted... The broth had no flavor and it taste more like water.. The noodles was too mushy.. To be honest it was DISGUSTING. Nissin Cup of noodles and Ramen Oodles and Noodles taste better... I ask the waitress can they make any accommodations for the soup and she straight up said no.Then I asked her to get the manager and when he came he was very unprofessional, he told me that they have the best Ramen and that I have to eat it and that he can't do anything about it or else he'll loose his job..At 1st the workers seemed friendly but then when I asked them to accommodate me their attitude changed..They just put on a front for the money... They refused to do anything so my friend told me to just not tip the hibachi cooker and I told her no its not his fault he was the only genuinely nice person there with good hospitality .... As they came over to bring my fried ice cream and sing happy Birthday to me another Waitress that was not mine came off and pack our foods in a to go bag AND WE WE'RE STILL EATING!!!! HOW RUDE.LOL... They thought they could distract us but I saw that LOL.... The waitress took my ID 2 times the first time to make sure my Birthday was that day and she wanted to check it again for the same reason but I know she did that just because she thought I was not going to pay for the Ramen Soup which is and went in the GARBAGE...They were faking there friendliness just for the money all except the Hibachi workers... They were rushing us out of there that is BAD HOSPITALITY....I could have gotten upset but I didn't want to cause a big scene and I wanted to enjoy the rest of my Birthday in which I did thanks to God.. P.S if you want some good authentic Ramen Soup go to Fujiya Ramen in Montclair their soup is authentic and don't taste...
Read moreVisited the restaurant yesterday with my cousins, because we actually think the sushi is good. After my experience yesterday with management, I will never return to the establishment. When ordering an honest mistake was made on our end when selecting the rolls and we notified the waitress when she came out. All we wanted was to have sushi rolls that we actually meant to select come out because, the ones that were accidentally selected were not going to be eaten due to an allergy and preference. The waitress gets the manager and he comes out so irate like he had some preconceived notion of us already. We tried to explain to him it was an honest mistake but he kept cutting us off yelling at us and saying we need to eat it, it’s his business, and what do we want him to do. We told him we will not pay for something we cannot consume and he storms off. We sat and ate what was correct on our order, the waitress came back and asked if we wanted to pack up the uneaten rolls and we told her again we cannot eat that therefore we aren’t paying for that, why would we take it with us. The girl gets the manager and he comes and says what do you want now, very rude and dismissive. We tried to explain again and he said no other restaurant would take food back, calls us cheap basically because it’s half off sushi, and walks away. We paid for our food that was consumed, left the tip for the waitress because, it had nothing to do with her. The manager proceeds to stop us at the door and say he is calling the cops follow us outside and harasses us, after he already tried to humiliate us in the restaurant. I never write reviews and still will praise the sushi, but a business should never treat customers like that. The manager probably had bad experiences with black customers before and prejudged cause we are also black. My cousins and I understood it’s a business, if the manager would’ve been more kind and just even listened to what were trying to express their would’ve never been a scene that he made. I’ve never experienced anything like that before at...
Read moreThis sushi spot is a gem with its creative menu featuring interestingly named rolls. My go-to is the Green Dragon Roll, filled with crispy shrimp tempura and cucumber, topped with thinly sliced avocado, roe, and eel sauce—the perfect balance of sweetness. I always end up asking for an extra side of eel sauce! My friend opted for the sushi sampler and was delighted with the variety, although the portion was so generous that she ended up taking half of it home.
The service was great—quick and provided by a friendly, polite, and upbeat waitress. I've frequented this place both before the pandemic and the service has always been descent. While I haven't tried their hibachi events yet, I've overheard patrons enjoying themselves during these events on a couple of occasions.
While I typically aim for 5-star reviews, I must provide an honest assessment to maintain transparency. The presence of tiny flies on 3/11/24 was concerning. Though I understand that flies are attracted to food, it detracted from my comfort and left me questioning the establishment's hygiene standards. They can swiftly resolve this issue by investing in fly traps. Additionally, receiving hot tea in a plastic cup raised safety concerns, as hot liquids can cause plastic to release harmful chemicals. Despite requesting a non-plastic alternative, none were available. I hope they consider investing in safer serving options, such as ceramic or porcelain mugs, to ensure the well-being of their patrons. If these issues are addressed, I would gladly revise my...
