Attending DeVry had been the best college experience I have ever had. I decided to go back and school. I was on the fence about which school. When DeVry called me I answered instead of dodging the call. I'm so happy that I answered. My advisor Robert "Bob" Rysinski talked me through everything at length. I feel like he did not try to sell me the experience. He gave it to be straight and also heard my concerns. Bob explained his open personal experience with DeVry with his own education. Not once have I felt abandoned by him or anyone at anytime at DeVry. Big shot out to my financial advisor Robin Petrucelli at DeVry. Financials and loans make me nervous as a single mom. Robin has always looked into any issues, questions I've had with financial aid, loans, and how to get the best approach to pay for my education. Both Robin and Bob are tenured members at DeVry and they both love this jobs. It truly shows. They have both gone above and beyond!! And they already yeah me too never hesitate to contact them. Amazing people!!
The online experience has been amazing! I'm a single mom with 2 sons. One with special needs and I also take care of my mom who is not in great health. As the main breadwinner in my family it was important to me to find a program that worked around my schedule. I have had a wonderful learning experience. The professors have been ever present. They check in on you and have an open door policy to contact them anytime. I truly feel that I'm getting great quality education for what I'm paying for. Is it a little more expensive? Yes. But sometimes you just gotta pay for quality. DeVry University is legit. I doubted them before based on rumors, etc. But I'm so glad that I gave DeVry a chance.
I'm in the medical billing and coding program and doing wonderfully. It's because of my wonderful experience with DeVry University that I have decided to continue my journey with them. I'm moving here to get my bachelor's degree in the Healthcare Administration field. Please give them a try. There are no secret costs, no hoaxes. Keep in mind your education is what you make it as well. Give DeVry a try! You won't regret it. I promise. Ask for Robert Rysinski, senior advisor! He is the best. I truly appreciate all that he and Robin have done for me. And I have spoken to others and they are...
Read moreWhat 3.5 Star are you BEEP BEEP kidding me. WHAT!!! I go to the North Brunswick campus which is an hour and half away. However they have a campus that is 30 minute away in Paramus but good luck finding classes there. In any case if your looking into attending college at DeVry period. Please go and get admitted to the nearest medical facility immediately, unless you like to get work crammed down your throat, there's no way someone can do the amount of work that is required in the time frame they ask you to. Oh, and after you spend twice that of what you would spend at a "REAL COLLEGE", your bill will be close to the purchase of a house. One semester is 2 months, nope it 4 months broken in 2 month segments just like a real college right. But a 2 month part time session, um hold on $5,200.00 for 8 credits. Yes! So, do the math for a complete semester 4 months is over 10K. 10K, is freaking ridiculous, and once you graduate, try to find a job in the field of study. So, if you don''t believe me attend DeVry and see for yourself. Oh, and bring a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$ for they will want it all. Yes, I'm pissed off. As I sit here writing this. I have two classes one class requires me to do: read 4 chapters, do 5 labs that has 26 question 30 essays, 1 midterm and 6 discussion posts, which most of my grade comes from, oh, and the second class 6 discussion question and a 7 page "research" paper draft and is graded by the worlds strictest professor I've ever came across. Why you may ask, because DeVry wants to prove to the world that they are an actual college. So, if you want a head ache for 8 weeks plus sign up. Four week left and I'm running to Rutgers for the North Brunswick campus is right across the street from the DeVry...
Read moreAs a recent graduate of DeVry University, I can say that the full-time professors are some of the smartest and most helpful teachers I have ever met. They would do everything in their power to help me succeed. Every class that I attended on-site was a fantastic experience that left me with a wealth of knowledge and the confidence to use that knowledge out in the world. I would highly recommend any class offered by Dr. Eric Addeo and Dr. Hassan Marzouk.
I transferred into DeVry with an Associates in Science, and there were a few issues with my transcript, but the administrative staff helped out so much. I worked with Nina Patel and she helped me with everything from fixing my transcript to scheduling classes. I also got a lot of help from Tyrel Parkinson and the rest of the IT department. They are extremely fantastic!
The only downside (and the reason DeVry lost a star) is the amount of online. While this is a good thing for some people, I felt like it was a waste of resources that DeVry has with their full-time faculty. Online classes also do not promote networking like on-site classes do. I can say that I never really connected with my fellow online students like I did with on-site and I feel like that is a huge waste and dislike that DeVry is going in that direction.
Overall, DeVry was a great experience and I hope anyone that attends has the same...
