I started getting my hair done at Queen Isabel's Beauty Salon when they first opened their door. All of the stylists are friendly and courteous. My mother started relaxing my kinky-coily hair when I was 7 years old. The professionals at Queen Isabel's maintained my relaxed hair over the years using the "stretching" method. Over the years, I received numerous compliments on the long length (my hair reached the middle of my back), and silky-shiny texture of my hair. Even though my stylist could have made a lot more money encouraging me to get relaxers more often, they preferred to deep-condition my coils instead of chemically treating my hair.

Last spring, my stylist initiated the conversation about “going natural”. I told her that my hair is too kinky-coily to ever consider discontinuing chemical relaxers. She was able to convince me that she could care for my natural texture. I reluctantly agreed. Today I am proud to report that I have not had a relaxer in 1 1/2 years. My stylist effortlessly deep conditions and styles my natural hair. I am amazed at how much my hair has grown. It is just as long as it was when I relied on chemical relaxers. My hair is full and healthy. Again, the stylist could make more money continuing to relax my hair, which is what I originally wanted because I thought that my hair was too kinky-coily to ever imagine going natural.

If I could give this hair salon no stars I would. I am a black woman and walked into this Dominican hair salon and asked for a blow out on my short natural hair. The hairstylist asked me to take off my hat and all the hair stylists bursted out in laughter and started speaking about me in Spanish as if I couldn’t understand. The service is not even worth the amount you pay.

Absolutely amazing service! I have been coming here for over 4 years and I was a referall from my mother in law when I had moved here from Florida. I was sceptical with my natural hair because being mixed my natural 4c hair actually gets really thin. Yasmine and her sisters are so welcoming and professional! The environment feels like you are at a close friends house but with the utmost professionalism.
