They have amazing gear and the end result is fine. Several times we’ve worked with them and it’s a mixed bag of audio and video engineers. Most of the time they’re the normal kind of begrudging high-dollar union workers who are not eager to help, but not unpleasant. A few have been downright hostile and toxic to work with, inflexible and uncaring. “They didn’t pay us to do that” is a common refrain. “We weren’t told to bring drum mics.” How they expected to run sound for a band without miking the drums is beyond me. Several busted cables in a row, blamed the band for the tech pinning his own snake wrong, etc. Not the best atmosphere at an otherwise joyful event.
Just be careful with your language when you hire them. And manage your expectations. If your event is just a few speakers and some video and lights, and you are willing to put up with their truck revving up behind you right as the event ends (they are eager about one thing: Leaving), they’ll work fine.
