Glenwood Gardens is a beautiful park to go to for a walk or miscellaneous events (each time we go we've seen events underway: couple's photography, prom photos, etc.). Fortunately, these events don't take anything away from those of us just looking for a nice walk in good weather. It includes a few walking trails that branch off each other. Be warned, because other than the 1.6 mile Wetland Loop trail, shade is not often found on the path, so avoid in severe heat or without sunscreen. The only negative I have to mention is that while all the trails connect to one another, the park is missing signs at the intersections telling you which path is which. We did notice incline warnings on the Wetland Loop trail, but we had to plan out our walk by studying the map beforehand (under the arched tunnel). Definitely learn the trail you want before setting off, because the park makes no mention of it after the start. Overall, a beautiful park to go to for those who love to walk, and appropriate for athletes, dog walkers, couples, the elderly, and everyone between.

Absolutely beautiful park with so much for kids to explore. We visited again for the Fairy Festival which was a little disorganized but we still enjoyed ourselves. We were disappointed to find out that even though we were told the festival was handicap accessible, it did not actually include the hill down to the music garden nor the area down there where majority of the festivities were held. Luckily our group made our way down and really enjoyed what we saw. The music gardens were beautiful as well as you could see the festival was well planned in the entertainment regards. Everyone we met once we were within the garden was doing their best and so nice. I wish they had been more staffed since the park staff seemed very stressed out and a few made remarks that could have come off ruder if we all weren't trying to be understanding with each other considering the event was clearly overwhelming for them more than us. We have visited before (Harry Potter event) and will continue to visit again because I know they will only improve each visit.

Smaller park, there is I believe 3 trails/paths that you can access without paying to get into the special garden (geared towards children). I think you normally have to have the Great Parks pass or pay to get in, but there was not an attendant at the booth on a friday afternoon, so it's probably hit or miss. Pretty scenery and flowers. Not a lot of shade on the trails themselves. The main trail is paved and the wetland loop up gravel. As with any walk, check yourself and your dog after for ticks. They're very bad this year. My dog enjoyed the walk. There were seveal parties doing graduation photos here so I guess it's popular for getting photos taken. We got to see a snake, a couple rabbits, and 2 turkey vultures. There are trash and recycling receptacles on the trails.

he first time we came here there were no one at the gate so we got in free but paid to get info the other side. I like playing with my camera on the other side ..you pay in the building that has gift shop. The have the gate locked so i gather thats the only way in. In that section they have a cute kids area with miniaturize train, huge fake tree that looks like something from alice and wonderland, lovely flowers and fish ponds with loads of dragonflies. they have a cute dragon with with glowing eyes near the fairy garden area. Cute area for kids of all ages. My fav area is the marshy pond way in the back that has lots of frogs and dragonflies.

this time there was some all the gate so we had to pay to get in .. they do accept credit cards. I think it was 5 for the day or 14 for years pass because we live outside the county. I think it was around 5 each to get in the side we came to see. they give you a sticker to put on your shirt. to be frank i don't know if this is on a honor bases .. didn't seem like anyone was monitoring it.

on the other side that you don't have to pay extra .. its a big paved loop to walk .. huge mature trees ... lovely...

I go here all the time to walk my dogs. Usually there is no one charging at the front booth, so I was confused why there was this time (this is not a problem by the way. Lots of parks charge!). Today (9/10/17 at 1:50PM) I pulled up to a mid-aged black man at the booth and he asked me if I was a resident. Confused, I said "no, there's usually no one here. That's different." Hoping for a "oh we charge on sundays!" It would have made sense. Instead, he looked at me like I was an idiot and he said "well that's not the problem is it?" I had no idea what he was antagonizing me about at this point so I said "what do you mean?" and he said, "me being here isn't the problem. It's that you have no money to pay." I had barely even said anything to him at this point and he rudely assumed I was trying to get out of paying. A little ticked off, I said "I do have money... I'll just turn around." And he said "yeah, thats what you need to do." So completely unnecessary. I then asked him what his problem was and he returned the same question. Whoever that man is, ruined the whole desire to return to the park. Shame, because...

As someone who is constantly hiking, exploring places, and being out in nature this place is way overhyped. I’m sorry to say it but it’s true.

Reading previous reviews calling the hiking trails “extensive” is laughable. To pay $8 to walk the 2.6 miles total of trails is excessive. On top of that, I was floored that I couldn’t go to the separate gardens without paying another $6. As a final shot, when I left the park around 3:00pm, there wasn’t even anyone manning the toll booth. So I guess it’s just pick and choose.

There are a couple nice gardens at the beginning with scenic overlooks. Beyond that, you travel downhill into some woods. Listen, I love being in the woods but I don’t need to pay a dime to it around here.

Hilariously enough, on my walk back up the hill there was a group of people taking what looked like graduation pictures. They exclaimed that they couldn’t believe something like this view existed. It was like a movie. I had to laugh out loud and think to myself, people really do not get out much.

Pay about the same at Dawes or Franklin Conservatory and be absolutely...
