Never have I ever (pardon the pun) seen so many racial stereo types reinforced in one place. Let alone seen mall so filthy or confusing. It's honestly unforgivable. This malls architecture for starters is just dumb. Whoever designed it is stupid. It has way too many conflicting styles. Then there is the selection of shops. There are I kid you not probably 7 stores selling sneakers alone. Mostly the same brands. This place needs an over haul for sure. But wait there's more! There are 3 separate asian cuisine places in the place all of which are sub par. The entire food court was filthy. I've seen cleaner subway stations. Every mall employee from store employees to security to janitorial all had filthy worn out uniforms. Stained and crusty. Then there was the restroom which is where it gets real bad. There was litteral human feces and urine all over everything. The sinks were broken and constantly running, the soap dispensers are broken and they have little bottles of dollar store hand soap pumps in their place all of which were mostly empty and what was left was so watered down it barely had a scent let alone made you feel clean. Then the entire malls floor was brick mosaic. All of which was sticky or slippery none of which even looked clean. The benches were half paint half bare material from neglect. There were cracks in the walls and pretty much everything every bit of the mall stores included was covered in not only the sticky and slippy unknown substances but also general filth and litter. I've seen places look cleaner after riots and tailgates. The ENTIRE Mall food court included stank of urinal cakes (a general odd smell you will find in any men's room. No one really likes it or hates it, it's just tolerable) then back to the mention of the racial stereo types being enforced here. Every male of every race and age had sagging pants but even more depressing was the group this stereotype is largely applied to which is African Americans. More specifically African American males. Then most of the food places were all run by Latinos and sadly as I mentioned were filthy and just had poor quality food available for high prices even by food court standards. The (sadly) busiest food place was selling fried chicken. (Yes that old stereotype. We all love chicken. Let alone friend but I mean really the line was around the corner and consistently made of African Americans only.) The whole mall needs MAJOR intervention. They can't help the clientele they have but they could at least keep the place clean if nothing else. It also just lacks an identity aside from being one massive stereotype. Honestly if you want a pleasant shopping experience where you don't have to wonder if someone is gonna start a gang fight in the mall or if your going to catch something from walking on the floors. Let alone eating the food(which took bravery on my part mind you so you don't have to. Your welcome.)...
Read moreSecurity Square Mall has been around for a very very long time. I remember Security Mall being one of the most busiest malls in Baltimore County to looking like they were going to close because vendors and businesses were leaving. I haven't been there in a while nor done a full walkthrough but I did so on this visit. I was pleasantly surprised to see this more mall has more vendors, kiosks, and things going on than it had before! This mall is perfect for almost anything! They continue to be a hangout for teenagers, but I'm not upset about that... I was a teenager once and this is where I hung out. They have hair salons, barber shops, clothing stores, shoe stores, music kiosks, shirt makers and not just one but several, makeup stands, and they still manage to house the large department stores like Sears and Macy's. This place even has a furniture store here! Can you believe it? I have no issues with Security Square Mall because they continue to give the community what they want and I noticed they still have a few great stores that have always been popular such as as well as The Great Cookie, Claire's, Gold Bakery and I forgot Things Remembered.
Security Mall could use an upgrade especially since it isn't going anywhere and I think they definitely deserve one but I'll continue to shop there no matter how it looks because they always come through in the clutch and I need things for my kids! I have no issue with parking other than they need to redo the parking lot. The lines are running into each other, uneven, and kind of makes no sense. But I'm also used to it, so I know how to deal with it. And it could always be worse. Another thing regarding parking / Transportation, there's several bus routes that come here so it allows workers and shoppers to get here at ease. I was once was one of the individuals that had to use that bus line to get there so I definitely appreciate it!
Kudos to Security Square Mall for lasting more than...
Read moreIf I could give this guy â0â stars I would. The day before my birthday my son and I went to this guys stand so that I could get a t-shirt made for the Ravens Training Camp (7/23 âď¸ b-day) and have it signed by the players once everything was over. I had been to this stand a few times before with no problems. Well, not knowing that the mall closes at 7pm daily and it wouldnât be done in 20. So, told shorty that I would be back the next day to get my t-shirt made once the mall opens. Which opens at 10 am (I arrived at 10:25 am) daily and shops open at 11 am. Again, didnât know because I ONLY go to this mall for specific things. So, the day of I call the guy to see where he is. I was told he will be at his stand at 11:30 to make my shirt. I left to get something to eat came back at 11:24 trusting that he arrived and had the t-shirt made. Fast forward I had my t-shirt made at another stand that was $7 less, better business, husband and wife team who helped a sista out. The other guy, a brother who is hustling, messed up attitude, not professional, got upset when I requested a refund, out $27 and did not want to give me a refund. Take heed when going to Security Square Mall and going to one of three of his stands. Which are right by the Great Cookie. I support black owned businesses all the time. This young man has a lot to learn a starting business owner. Baltimore is small, word of mouth (positive and negative) goes a long way. Everyone knows everyone. All he had to do was tell me the truth that my t-shirt wasnât made and wasnât able to give me a refund for whatever reason. I would have been ok with.
For a wonderful t-shirt, professional, team player(s), family owned, (husband and wife with their son), black owned business. Go to the stand that seats right. Next to Cinnabon and across from the...
