On the day of February 5th, I was coming from a club meeting at the school I attend and I was racially discriminated by both the security guard and an old lady that works at the library. I have to admit my cousin and I stood outside for almost 10 minutes ,because It was hot that day. Alot of kids were out there because It was a fight at the school outside, which I didn't see. I only saw the police cars and when my cousin and I tried to go into the PUBLIC library the old lady that worked their told us we couldn't go or even stand in front of the library and that " I saw what y'all was doing and y'all were mixed into all that" . I said " I was not , I just came from my school meeting and not all black kids look the same". So, then we moved to the steps in the parking lot then the light skin security guard comes over to us not even 2 minutes later. Seeing how it was a lot of Black teenagers outside, she says we can;t stand here either when , we were not doing anything wrong just waiting to be picked up after school that is all. I watched that same black old lady let other children in who went to the same school as me just taller. There was at least forty teenagers outside. So I told the security guard " Not all black people look the same and this racial discrimination. She just let people in and I should call my mom because this some BS". So the security guard says to me " Naww I saw what yall was doing " and then I said " What exactly was I doing". Then she smiles and says nothing. So I say " right because, I wasn't doing anything wrong" and she just smiles and walks away. Then , our ride home finally came. I felt disrespected because, I was being seen as some basic black child who does whatever other do and instigates. So yes I give this library one star when It...
Read moreThis has to be the loudest library in Baltimore County that I have ever been too. You have loud bratty children running around, the employees are as equally loud as the children which is also odd seeing as this is suppose to be a Library. I have sat by and watched the employees carry on like this for about a year now. Trying to concentrate on work or reading is almost IMPOSSIBLE at this location. The security doesn't do their job, I've seen teenage kids come in here during normal school hours when the Library is suppose to be off limits to high school students! The lady with the ponytail that walks around the Library all day long (I believe she is some sort of security) what exactly is her job again, because I've seen incidents occur here (Under her watch) that could've been avoided had she done her job. The security at this location simply do not enforce the rules nor does the employees. I would highly suggest anyone that visit this location that need to read or study to go to...
Read moreThere was one point I loved coming to the library to continue my fascination with books and the knowledge it contains. I cannot say the same now. Every time I’ve come to this library at any time of the day, it is LOUD. There are high school children who are flooded in here, cutting school with their friends and being very loud/rowdy. When has the silence in a library stopped being a thing? These kids are not doing school work nor are they studying. They’re making loud noise, using profanity and chilling as if it’s a school cafeteria. Parents, COME GET YOUR KIDS and TEACH THEM SOME MANNERS! Librarians, please reinforce the silence in the building. I’m in a zoom business meeting and I can barely hear what’s being presented because these rowdy children are extremely loud and hella rude. It is very disappointing to have to experience this disorder EVERY DAY in this library. Enforce silence in...
