Dear Armanettis,
My Wife and I were shopping for a bridal shower we were hosting last Friday and stopped at the Armanettis on Rt.47 in Woodstock to stock up on beer, wine, and champagne for the party. We always purchase slightly more than we think weāll need to be sure we donāt run out. The next day weāll generally return any unopened wine/champagne we donāt think we will use. The next morning I returned to the store with four bottles of champagne and a bottle of wine. I was told by the Manager/Owner? (who was the person that checked us out the day before) that, āyou cannot return liquorā and that, āno one in Mchenry will take liquor backā. After standing there with a puzzled expression I informed him he just lost a good customer. He came out to the parking lot to inform me that because I could have tampered with the product or changed its quality with poor (hot, cold, sunlight) storage he couldnāt take it back. I held up the receipt that showed I had purchased the liquor less than 24 hours ago. And it was still in the box that HE packed it in. Still, common sense eluded him. Checking Illinois law there is nothing that states you may not or you must accept liquor returned to the store from which it was purchased. It is up to the individual store/chain to set their policy. However, since moving to the area a few months ago I have frequented this store on average 2-3 times a week, Iām a regular customer. This employeeās short sighted action may have saved him/them a couple dollars and maybe a little effort, but it cost the store hundreds/thousands(?) of dollars in future sales. Oh forgot to mention, I had returned the extra liquor from a house warming party to that very store two months earlier. That employee accepted the return with the courtesy one would expect from a class establishment. Guess Iāll be hanging at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEvery time I go every body is very helpful and knowledgeable. I'll ask for anything and you can see their brain rack through their vast inventory followed with a confirming reply; due to they have almost everything. I think I've been followed too but I was wearing big black coat and had my 21yo shaved baby face on. So it's justifiable and convenient for when I need help.
Anyways, place is great. Wide selection of Craft Beer, Wine, & ..... that's all that matters you can get spirits anywhere. Although I prefer this Polish grain alchohol over everclear for apple pie making, Its's a point stronger, AND THEY HAVE IT in the ominous handle size. So I fear, revere. & appreciate them stocking that.
As for the Negative Nancy's posting/reveiwing.... Just suck less....you shouldn't feel prestige for patronage that's just arrogant. + returns are the most annoying thing for any business especially small businessess that deal with maintaining product sustainability. Don't Google state food and beverage laws Google common sense, Other customers don't want your disclosed hearsay or your returned trunk wine.
Armanetti's provides the service of bringing Great Beer and Wine to me and I say thank...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYou're policy should've been enforced when I walked throught the doors then other than trying to make us feel uncomfortable shopping at your location. I've been in that store 3 other times twice with the same person who carded me. so much disrespect eyeing us down like that. You honestly believe that you can call that policy post the camera footage then and have people ask themselves would they really wanna go through the same experience after a long week of work . Then to have a nice date to end it on a bad note like that for a local business that I've already been too. How about you check your workers discrimination and disrespect before talking about policy like I didn't know I look young when I shave my face. That's a whole training you're supposed to enforce since you have your liquor license. I understand what you're trying to say and that does not excuse the fact of what we went through at your location. I do hope this never happens again to...
