Recently I was shopping at my local Ocean State JobLot on Diamond Hill, Woonsocket, RI. I had such a positive experience. Upon entering the store to exchange an item, a gentleman at the first Register, offered to hold items while I shopped and obtained replacements. This man has waited on me multiple times. He has always been pleasant and willing to help. Recently, with XMas and post holiday sales, I have been shopping a lot. Just common decency and willingness to assist a customer seems to have disappeared.. This JobLot is refreshing, clean well stocked and staff who go above and beyond to provide customer service. I later found out the gentlemanâs name is Peter.
In addition to Peterâs pleasant service, I was shopping for some therapeutic exercise balls. I asked a saleswoman to show me where the sports equipment was? She escorted me to the aisle, I did not see what I needed. She suggested tennis balls in the pet department. I thanked her and continued to shop. A short time later, she met me in the aisle with tennis-like balls for pets, but harder than tennis balls. Exactly what I needed, I was so pleased? I asked her name and told her I was going to compliment her to the boss. As I was heading to the front of the store, I thought I am going to give kudos for both employees. Peter who assisted me first and Jessica. When I approached Peter and asked his name and the supervisor so I could give my compliments to both of these employees, Peter told me he is the Supervisor. I told him about Jessica and asked for his boss. More stores need more employees like Peter and Jessica and whoever is overseeing the this Ocean State JobLot. You and your staff are doing a very good job,...

Read moreSpacious for an OSJL. Selection is good. Clean store. A couple of minor gripes. Had to return a plastic storage cabinet that was purchased by our daughter for us. Didn't have a receipt. They would only give store credit, which is understandable. They would not, however, refund the sales tax she paid. I guess they thought I must be a thief that drove to the nearest state that doesn't have a sales tax, bought the item, and returned it for the refund. I also wonder where that ~$4.00 in tax is going to go. As for the return, it was a KeterŽ plastic unit. Parts were broken, many loose in the box. The plastic was poorly finished, with flash hanging off pieces and blocking the smaller holes. To call it junk would be a compliment. Don't buy that...
