J & D Pizza & Resturant — Restaurant in Woonsocket

Really enjoy the pizza and sandwiches. They are probably better than most in the city. The service is always great. However, their major downfall it is not inviting to eat there. In the winter they will not turn the heat on so you freeze, and in the summer, they do not put the air on, so you die of heat. Here is an adendum to my review. J & D it's under new ownership and the new owners are actually very nice. They are always eager to make sure you're very happy.So my first review was the old owner that didn't care if you were happy with your food or happy when you ate in there if you were going to be too hot or too cold. The new owner's care if your food is cold or hot meaning spicy and you don't like it. They want your food to be just right. They also are changing up the menu to make sure they put their culture and with it. I've tried some of the food.It actually is delicious. I'm not being paid to say this. I've been one of the taste testers because I go in there quite often. They know I'll give them an honest answer whether or not I care for the dish. So far I have not had a dish that I dislike. I actually like everything i've tried. You need to go in and see the new menu. They're posting it on different sites. I believe on Facebook and Instagram the new menu will be posted. What a change from previously. Next time I go in I will take pictures and post. Currently they run a special, a large pizza and it's too late.A bottle of soda for 12.99 where can you beat that. I am not being paid to solicit them at all. I just think that food is improved so much and this is a really good deal. The fact that they're also very nice and try to get to know their customers is also a plus. We are spending a spending a little more money because now they included ice cream and I am the weakest link. They also have some nice is Egyptian desserts. I have been a client of J&D for 16 years and the last couple of months their service has really gone down hill. A few of their employees are really sweet, however, the ones that sometimes answer the phone can't get off the phone with you fast enough, to a point where my order is either wrong or cold two out of five times. I spend at least $50-60 a week there and this last time took the cake. I ordered my food via phone and was hung up on as soon as he got my credit card number to a point where i thought we were disconnected. As I got my food the delivery driver dropped my sandwich and proceeded to still try to give it to me, even though there were pickles all over my porch. Huffing and puffing he took the sandwich away to make a new one. As he drove away I called the restaurant to let them know which sandwich had dropped. The person on the phone inquired about which driver brought the food and I explained I thought the driver was spanish with a white car. Not even five minutes later the driver returns with the "new sandwich", as it was ice cold, so I am pretty sure it was the same sandwich. He proceeds to scold me saying he isn't spanish and how dare I say that and walked away swearing at me. I apologized sincerely, however, that wasn't enough and he continued swearing. I told him to get off my property, and the driver came back to the door, calling on my 15 year old son. He finally left when I told him I would call the authorities if he didn't leave. I then called the restaurant to complain only to have the guy who answered tell me to shut the f**k up and hung up on me. I am mortified that a restaurant that I would give my business to and sent so much business to would treat me like this. We ordered a sheet pan pizza. It was HUGE and so delicious! It was supposed to be half pepperoni but there was pepperoni on all of it but it was so good im not going to complain about getting more pepperoni than what I paid for. The BEST pizza I've had in the area. I've tried all the places in the vicinity and IMO this IS the best. And $22 for a pizza that's like 2 foot long and 1.5 feet wide is pretty good IMO. Also got some wing-dings (breaded chicken wings) and they were also superb. I've tried at least 6 other places in this vicinity. One place has been my go-to place for years but I wanted to try somewhere new for my birthday and I can't say enough about the quality of the food compared to other places.
