Dutch Boy Furniture — Local services in Wytheville

We drove up to Wytheville from North Carolina, hoping to buy a dining room set from Dutch Boy Furniture. We had been in the store once before when driving through VA, and we had searched the website to get ideas. We wanted furniture made in the USA. For at least a year we’ve been considering and looking for a replacement set for our dining room. This past weekend we spent at least 1.5 hours both Friday & Saturday with Vernon, the owner. Vernon was knowledgeable, helpful and patient as we looked through the store, the catalogs, and asked many questions. We made a decision on a dining set — and because we chose the style, wood species, the stain, chairs/chair legs, etc. we will definitely feel like we have a dining set made just for us. Delivery to our house will be in about three months, which works for us,, and we look forward to that day! Vernon met us at the main store in Wytheville around 3:30 on Monday, July 22 for a scheduled appointment. He was very gracious and listened to our requirements for a sofa, pub table & chairs, pie safe, vegetable bin, floor lamp and table lamp. His knowledge on chair comfort, wood & stain selection and fabric selection was very impressive. We left the store after 5:30 with our 4-Runner loaded with a pie safe, floor lamp and table lamp purchased off the floor knowing the items on order would be equally satisfying. I just recently received my Olde Shaker living room furniture. From selecting the stain for the furniture to the upolstery, Vernon made it so easy. He made recommendations between regular sawn wood and quarter sawn. He is very patient 😊. Because of the great prices I was able to purchase the quarter sawn wood shaker furniture. I knew the furniture would be exceptional, but when Vernon and his lovely family delivered it, I was overwhelmed with the beauty and craftsmanship.
