Dear Sonic Customer Service,
I am writing to formally express my concern regarding an experience at your Wytheville, Virginia location this evening 10/10/2025.
Upon arriving, I was greeted by a team member named Micah, who was extremely courteous and transparent. He explained that the store was short-staffed, with only two employees working, and that food orders would take approximately 30 minutes. I greatly appreciated his professionalism and honesty. I informed him that I would only be ordering drinks, as Sonic’s beverages and ice are a favorite of mine and the primary reason I continue to visit your establishments.
Unfortunately, I was unable to place my order through the Sonic app, as it was not connecting or allowing me to submit my order. I kindly asked that my drink order be adjusted to reflect the half-price offer typically available through the app, as this has been honored at other Sonic locations (including this one in the past) when the app experiences technical issues.
Micah explained that he could not override the price because it was after Happy Hour, and that this was company policy. He sought clarification from his shift lead, who confirmed that he should not make any adjustments. When I asked for her name, he indicated that he did not know it.
I would like clarification as to whether this is truly Sonic’s company policy. If it is, while I respectfully disagree, I will accept it and simply take my business elsewhere when the app is down — as the issue is not the customer’s fault. However, if this is not official company policy, I would strongly encourage management to send a reminder or updated guidance to all stores to ensure consistency.
The inconsistency from one location to another is frustrating and diminishes the customer experience. I want to emphasize that Micah handled the situation with great professionalism and respect — my concern lies solely with the policy and lack of uniformity across locations.

Read moreThis location needs someone to manage it properly and take care of customer orders. The team members need the tools to operate efficiently, You have to wait long periods of time to get waited on and even longer to get your order. My wife Door dashes on the side and she hardly ever gets an order on time. Or claim they don’t have the order or on multiple occasions can’t process order an can only take cash. No Dasher wants to spend 45 minutes for a 3.00 order cause the restaurant can’t process it. Have even heard employees talking among themselves how they hate their job and they didn’t like to even process Doordash orders. As well as equipment not working properly. As for the maintenance of this location, it is very run down compared to others. The restrooms are always dirty and the parking lot needs major repairs. The order screens hardly ever work. This reflects back to the owner as well as the Sonic name in general. I personally don’t recommend this restaurant unless some major changes are made , if this can’t be done, they should just shut down.
As of 12/1/2024 this location has stepped up its game at this location, The parking lot is finally fixed, Food service and taste has improved drastically , order boards finally working . Read moreI ordered lunch on the Sonic app today and went to pick it up. My order was to be ready at 12:01 and I was there at 12:01, due to the screens not working, I could not check in my stall-i pushed the button but as of 12:10 no one had responded, so I went to the door to let someone know. The girl told me that she would get me checked in. I went back to my vehicle, time passed and it was 12:20 and I hadn’t seen anyone so I went back to the door again and the same girl started yelling that she was the only one running food and got angrier because I asked her about my order-she screamed at me to get out of her store. I responded no, I need to speak to your manager. She told me no, and told me to get out. The manager came around the corner and asked what the issue was. I started to explain to him what all had taken place-all the while the girl was in the background yelling, and when I asked the manager what her name was she screamed out her name and then went on to drop the “F” bomb. As a customer I never should be talked to like that by anyone that I’m paying for ANYTHING. This store has been getting worse the last several years. If you don’t have the staff to be able to serve people then close the doors, or shut down the app, it should never be taken out on the customer for the businesses...
