Chalet Dental — Local services in Yakima

If you’re looking for a dental clinic stay away from Chalet Dental!! It has been a nightmare dealing with this clinic. I live in WV and chose this clinic because of location. I regret it terribly. I have gone in 4 times to get a filling done correctly. I was also charged $287 to have it redone! Now, they won’t refund me because they failed to inform me that Premera was no longer in their network and claim that Premera will be issuing me a check. It has been endless phone calls getting this matter situated between the insurance and Chalet Dental.

I made the mistake of ordering retainers from there too. The retainers did not fit and were poorly done. The retainers felt so tight, the edges scratched my gums, and the lower retainers wouldn’t even clasp all the way down. After expressing my concern to the hygienist, she insisted they felt that way because they were “new”. I took the retainers home and tried them out for the weekend. I couldn’t even keep the retainers on for 5 minutes. After comparing the shape of my old retainers, I saw what a horrible job they had done. The shape was completely off. I returned them immediately. The office manager informed me that I would still have to pay for the materials that were used. I agreed. A week later “Candy” called and stated per Dr. Austin, I would still need to pay $160 for the retainers ($80 for upper and $80 lower retainer) for the material AND their “time/service”. I informed her that I would pay for material but not for their “time/service” because the work was never done correctly. Why would I pay for retainers that don’t fit and were poorly made?? I refuse to keep wasting my time AND money with a clinic that provides substandard work.

i have gone here for years and i loved dr. Austins receptionist pam she was amazing and always fit me in as i am a college student. But his new receptionist she is rude and very unhelpful last spring break she had only one appointment for me and i told my hygienist that i wont be able to come back in because of appointments filled and she went up to the receptionist and informed her i was a student (something i already had informed her of) and all of a sudden their were appointments available (keep in mind i was there all week replacing fillings so 3+ appointments magically opened up?? only after the hygienist spoke with her..) and today was my final time there i called several times left several messages and someone else ended up scheduling me in, and when i left today their was an issue and her attitude was all wrong and i was still nice, that ruined my morning i've spoke to other patients there and they've had a hard time getting appointments scheduled with her and her attitude, honestly i love chalets staff but that was a wrong hire. i was unable to get her name as well but she's Dr. Austin's receptionist a...

I had made an appointment and when I arrived I showed my new insurance. And immediately the receptionist says they don't accept that insurance for adults. I asked if I could pay out of pocket. She nodded no said sorry and walked off. I was shocked, and since I hate confrontation I just left. The fact she didn't bother to work with me to see if we could do some sort of payment plan was unbelievable since online it clearly states they offer that. Also I had double checked my insurance, I was covered for a cleaning & exam, no where did it say I had to be certain age for that.
