When I see a product is really bad, I must write and warn other consumers. I bought both Stiebrs organic and PCC organic with 40 days to exp date. Stiebrs - Yolks are flat and pale. PCC - Yolks are plump, rounded and mid-yellow on a plate. *Stiebrs organic eggs expiration date don't seem to be honest indication. Flat yolks and runny white proved the old eggs. [Update] I was curious to see how Whole Foods 365 brand eggs look. So I picked non-organic 365 egg and found that they are better than average. Yolks are not flat unlike Stiebrs eggs. In addition, the color is bright yellow and that makes appetizing dishes. I won't even touch Stiebrs eggs rest of my life. [Update #2] For fairness, I kept checking PCC and Wholefoods side. Both have bad eggs such as flat or broken yolks. It seems to be common practice of the industry that recycling old eggs for profit. Roughly I have been seeing 25% of bad eggs in a package on PCC & Whole foods brand. Stiebrs package have over 50% of bad eggs. It is clear to me that Stiebrs egg piles are the largest at the store shelve and the...
Read moreI'm from Lacey since 1958 when my Father was stationed at Fort Lewis (JBLM). I grownup on a small 22 acre farm off Marvin Rd, raising cows, pigs, goats and lots of "really free roaming" chickens, "TRUTHFULLY". I didn't realize that you can tell what a "true" free roaming chickens are by the color of the yolk. Also, our eggs were huge back then not these Costco selling "WILCOX" brand eggs "stating": 1) FREE ROAMING, 2) GRADE SIZE AA LARGE. That's another review. Stiebrs are correct in size but, not in color yolk. Me raising "REAL FREE ROAMING" chicken the "YOLKS" were a deep color orange, Stiebrs at best "MEDIUM YELLOW". Also, my sister raises her chicken "real free roaming" over on the westside off Harrison and her eggs are a "deep color orange. They're so free roaming that they have problems with Bald Eagles swooping down and eating her chickens. In short, Stieber's chickens are not "really free roaming", that's my...
