Iāve always liked Chicks more than Dicks. I found myself stricken with a slight bit of melancholy when Dicks bought out Chicks, I believe back in 2007. I donāt know if they bought out the whole company or just this location.
The basic stock remained the same since the stores are/were very similar to one another. The main difference is in the type of workers employed by the stores.
The workers at Chicks seemed happier with their work than the Dicks workers are. When they greeted and qualified the customer it felt genuine. Their contentment in their vocation was naturally passed on to the customer.
The Dicks employees which I have dealt with seem to be very judgemental. They talk down to you. They sound like they have a āyeah right..ā on the tip of their tongue and they are itching to use it. Yes, Iām a biker, but I run 10kās and need some shoes. No, I donāt wear NorthFace, but yes, I like to go camping.
This attitude doesnāt bother me personally, but some people it might. Why hire these elitist people who are likely to alienate a portion of your customer base?
I donāt know. Guess that's why they donāt let me do...

So we came back and hunted down an employee and asked if this is really 65cm diameter ball? He said '65cm is circumference, not diameter'. I ask him are you sure? Because 65cm is not that longā¦.. He insisted that he is right and my wife told me not to argue with him⦠after he left, I opened another box of 65cm ball and one I had was shorter than one in second box⦠decide to do little experiment, at checkout, asked cashier 'hey, do you know if this 65cm is diameter or circumference? ' she said she has no idea. At least she said truth. Dicks, Educate your employees! Or at least train them to actually help customer by opening boxes and measuring...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would not recommend purchasing anything from this Dick's location. There is no Dick's Sporting Goods around where I live. I have to drive 30 minutes to this location. I tried to return my son's brand new cleats with a receipt. The manager Teresa would not give me the amount I purchased, said it would be a no receipt return and I would only get like $4. So they would be stealing money from me. I asked for corporate or district manager and she said go online. I have spent over a thousand dollars at Dick's Sporting Goods for this past baseball season. Their poor customer service, poor management, I recommend to take your money elsewhere. Support local sporting...
