Del Taco — Restaurant in Yucaipa

I am a single Dad, with 2 jobs, so I don't always want to cook. This Del Taco is always my go-to. Never had a bad experience. Last night(1/6/23), was like always, but I realized just how hard these folks work. I went in about 6:30pm. They were very busy. What I noticed was, even though the crew was running around like crazy getting out the orders(and not making mistakes), I noticed that they were also in very good spirits. Talking and joking with each other, while still doing their job. Because they were so busy, people were having to wait a little longer for their food. Walk in customers were giving them attitude, Drive-thru customers were also giving them attitude, and this crew apologised to each customer for the wait, smiled, and thanked them for coming in. I noticed there were a couple new employees, and the veteran employees had no problem helping them, without getting frustrated with them. One girl is pregnant, working the counter, probably physically exhausted, but still had a smile and a thank you for every customer. These guys always do their best, and always help each other, and I applaud them. Great teamwork. They are absolutely awesome! Won’t allow you to take the queso sauce out of the snack quesadillas. Although every other del taco does without issue. Either they literally don’t care about getting people what they want, or they pre-make their food way in advance and leave it sitting. Either way, to be expected from del taco 🤣

No wonder why I ALWAYS go to the one on the lower blvd although this is closer to my home by about 7 mins. I’ll drive to the del taco in Redlands before I deal with the laziness and unprofessionalism from this location again.

And ps, get the weird wrapping off the counter by the soda machine. Make this place better, pretty sad. I feel like a health inspector would lose their mind in there. Judging by owner replies to other reviews, this seems as if it’s a franchise location. To the owner, just know I left your location and went to the other one. Where I got exactly what I wanted. If you own that one too, get your policy’s across both locations. If you don’t, just know that your employees lost you opportune cost, effectively preventing you from getting my money. Just making sure everyone knows a year later and still the same 😂 only now they never have shakes past day crew. Revised-- 2 yrs later and even worse now! This place is screamingggg UNDERCOVER BOSS. It's pathetic nobody likes brown lettuce or stale fries, I promise. "FRESH" ? How so.... also.. why is this del so notorious for, "can you please back up 3 ft and drive back up?" So it isn't ACTUALLY fast, just trying to make quotas for corporate off of inconveniencing the customers and nasty food!

Lived here my entire life, born and raised 31 yrs and this del taco has truly lost everything it once was known for. Someone in corporate needs to come down and smack around the managers a bit. They have zero clue as to what customer service is or means, leaving the associates to follow. Bottom del it is from now on! They are great and always have been, not sure why I even bother with 2nd st del. They can't figure it out for the life of them! I promise these good reviews are from workers at del. Everyone knows this place is horrible it's why the line has gone from insane to non existent...
