Coming from a mexican household with a mother that cooks some of the most authentic & delicious mexican food. It is rare that we have high expectations of mexican restaurants not only because of the quality but price of the food.
We started with the special of the day as recommended by our server. The special consisted of 2 quesa birrias with consomƩ for $8.99. As i sank my teeth into these tacos it was with cheer, joy & bliss the flavor brought a smile to my face & a refreshing feeling and sense of fresh air as i was not expecting everything to be on point. The quesa birria was not soggy, not oily but full of flavor. A layer of crunch with the grilled cheese & the consomƩs flavor was not overwhelming.
Continued with a Taco de Lenguaā which was pleasant to see on the menu. (Our favorite taco) at a glance seemed like there was a lot going on with the cilantro but we trusted the process and ate the taco as it was served. A hint of lime & salsa verde, added to the great flavor the lengua had. P.s. the cilantro was fine. We did noticed it came with double tortilla, and quickly realized it was necessary because they are not stingy with their meats. (Reportados)
We ended our taco flight with the carnitas taco, that we requested to have mix with some Bucheā. Wasnāt greasy nor salty, the fattiness with the buche was very well balanced.
We did ask how the Chabelas were, our server replied ā Well I Make themā. so we decided to order one because of her confidence in her skill. Definitely good & full of flavor, prepared with our personal favorite āModelo negraā. The rim was not overwhelming & yummy.
In conclusion, we will b back & definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants authentic mexican freshly prepared food. And on the plus side very affordable pricing. Our meals chabela included total was $25+ tip.
Keep in mind we went around breakfast time in our way to the grocery store to buy breakfast stuff, but felt like we needed to go to see if they had tacos de lengua, and to see if they were good. & turned out to a whole...

We reached about 15 mins before closing on a Sunday evening. They were gracious enough to get us seated and serve us nicely and politely, answered all our questions. Now comes the good part. The complimentary salsa and chips were amazing, especially the salsa - perfect spice for us and my wife couldn't stop tasting the salsa even after we were done. I ordered a Molcajete Chicken (attached picture) that comes with Tortilla, Rice and Beans and my wife ordered Vegetarian Enchiladas. The Molcajete gravy was absolutely delicious, so were the roasted cheese slices. The roasted Cactus in the Molcajete gravy was great as well, but it seemed to have absorbed the tartness of the gravy a bit more that I'd like. CHICKEN had to be the best obviously.OVERALL THE Molcajete CHICKEN was BOMB. The meager Vegetarian Enchiladas were some of the best we had tasted, freshest for sure.
The only downside, it wasn't $, but more like $$, especially for most non vegetarian stuff, though they did come with rice and beans and tortilla sometimes. But I wouldn't mind...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat location. They should be packed. Iām guessing that they arenāt packed because they have poor service and average food. So I went in for the first time today to get lunch for me and my family. You should never talk about your customers in Spanish because you never know if they understand or not. Yes I am white but have been married to my Hispanic husband for over 32 years. So when I ordered my food they had an issue with how I wanted my chili verde burrito. I didnāt want it wet and I asked for cheese and sour cream to be added. The cashier tried to talk me into just getting a regular carnitas burrito but I explained that I liked the verde sauce. Then I decided to pay before the food was finished and the younger female cashier told the other cashier in Spanish that I only left a $3 tip in Spanish. I felt super disrespected so I let them know I speak and understood Spanish by ordering a drink in Spanish. I would never recommend this place based off my poor service and basic unflavored, average...
