I have lived in Joshua Tree for 10 years and the customer service has always been great and very low turnover- until today. There is a new manager at the store on the east side of Yucca who is absolutely horrible. She is completely out of touch with the culture in this area that is exceptionally accommodating to service dogs. This new store manager directly violated my ADA rights. My service dog is well trained and still learning shopping skills , so I take her on shorter shopping trips. Every store in yucca, JT, and Pasadena, including Walmart, has staff that receives my service dog with warmth, kindness, and tons of compliments. The new manager of Stater Brother east, for no reason, got in my face and picked a fight; she created a conflict where there was not one. She approached me as I was trying to put my service dogs gentle lead collar back on her. The new manager questioned me about her being a service dog, with a hostile tone, which made my dog nervous and anxious; she is not used to people like this. She made a list of hostile demands and told me I had to control her, even though she was not misbehaving at all. I told store manager that I can control her, but her standing there was not helpful. The store manager then stood behind me. (More invasive and obtrusive) After paying for my groceries I headed for the door and new manager stalked us with a couple of employees on either side of her. I will never go to this store again, even though it is close 2 home. There are other stores to choose from all of whom adore my dog and dogs in general. I called stater bros corporate on the same day described above and reported incident. I was told to expect a call back. I have not...
Read moreI went to Stater's yesterday to get a few things, after I checked out I went out to may car to start loading up my items. My clicker on my key isn't working so I have to open it with my key by inserting it into the key hole. So I did that and went to the back of my SUV to open the hatch and it was locked so I went back up front and opened the door an hit the ( open Button) but I hit the close button not knowing, I locked every door. I threw my key on my seat and closed the door not knowing I lock every door. I had to go back into Stater's to see if I could get a manager to help me. It turned out the girl who was my cashier was also, the Manager (Ashley) She saw me and asked if I needed assistance. I told her what happened and she right away asked if I had my phone I told her I didn't. I told her I have to call AAA and she right away got her phone and started looking up AAA. she handed me her phone and proceed to help the customer's in line and in between customer's she would check on me. I was told by AAA it would take 45 min. for a tech to arrive, so I went outside to wait for them. Logan who was helping bag also got involved in helping me out he took my groceries back into the cooler while I waited for the tech. He came out I believe for his break and walked up to me to see how I was and just then we saw the AAA truck and he walked with me over to the tech. I must say they really made my dilemma less stressful than what it was. I want to let you know you have a great team there. Thank you all for what they...
Read moreI go to this Stater even tho it is farther away from my home only because it has a larger selection. I find some of there employees rude and some that are very nice. Two days ago I needed some fruit and thought it was on sale. When I realized it was Vons I wanted to return my cart back out front where I found it. As soon as I walked out the store the cart stopped and I hit my shin really hard on it. Apparently, if the carts don’t exit through check out lanes they stop at door. I reported my injury to them. Today, I went there because Salmon was on sale. When I was checking out, I asked the cashier if they were on sale. He rudely said “I don’t know Mam.”Do you want them or not?” When he realized my attitude changed, he said do u want to speak to my manager. The Manager had no idea if they were on sale. Don’t you think a Manager on duty should know what is on sale in her store. Anyway there was a line behind me and I was embarrassed so I paid full price. The salmon was all mixed up in the meat department so it was hard to tell what was or not on sale. I have to say the deli man is the best. Very nice person. 5 star for Deli guy, three for the rest. I think I am going to shop more at the older one from now on. There cashiers...
