There is something special to this little place called 101 Meade and it's a definite must try if you in George, or just book yourself a flight ticket to go experience this restaurant. Booking is a must to secure your seat to the most mouth watering dishes you will ever taste. We were met by our waitress, Sharon, who was an absolute star, very bubbly and upbeat. Our night started with a slice of complementary bread that tingled our tastebuds, and from this point we knew we were in for an incredible night. Onto starters where we were taken away by a multitude of flavors and textures. The mains, this was incredible! The flavor, the spice, the wholesomeness, it was some of the best dishes we have ever had. Final course, the dessert, the pinnacle point to the evening, the litchi sorbet taking you back to when you were a child; the chocolate fondant oozing out onto the plate mixed with Ferroro ice cream, just some of the wonderful options available. Compliments to the chef and his team for such a divine culinary journey!

Really a beautiful, stylish restaurant with a warm atmosphere. As a welcome, you have the choice of different gins coming on a trolley table. Nice idea. We were a party of four on the 31st of Jan. My wife and me had some oysters and the tuna as starters. Main course were the prawns and a curry. Both very good. Even I could not finish my prawns, because my stomach felt very full. Also our friends were happy with their choices. The service could be improved. Lots of waiters around, but nobody sees that the bottle of wine or water is empty! Would you like another one? I really don't want to blame the restaurant, but the following night was the nightmare.... I don't want to go in detail, but we both were very sick. And the chances, that something was wrong with the oysters or tuna are unfortunately very high....Our friends had nothing. Would be interesing if other guests had the same experience.....I know, that might happen, but at that high standard restaurant it should not.

It's a pity that Google doesn't have a 10 star rating, because 101 Meade would score across the board! Coming to this restaurant is like coming home...if your version of "home" is high end Afro aristocracy. The furnishings, lighting and art work are all carefully considered. There is such impeccable attention detail in every aspect of the experience. The plating is no exception, with fresh micro-greens as garnishes and pleasant, quirky stoneware serving as a ferry for what is always a sumptuous meal. But what really makes 101 Meade shine is the brilliance of the staff whom I have come to love and cherish over the years. Asanda, Charlotte, Sihle and all the front of house personnel make you feel welcome right at the door. They fuss over you to ensure that your dining experience is elevated and memorable on every occasion. Their farewells are just saccharine, subversively beckoning you back. It is really one of the 3 must visit places to dine in George!
