Ā Ā Ā Read moreCanton Lane is my favourite place for dimsum in Perth. It reminds me a lot of the dimsum you get in Ipoh or Hong Kong ā same style and atmosphere.
They serve food the traditional way with trolleys and trays. Staff walk around with food, just call them and let them know if you see something you like or would like to order (porridge or chee cheong fun) . So far they are very attentive and friendly.
I went during weekdays breakfast so everything was good, no queue and everything was available. But i heard the rush hours and peak was quite hectic. If possible do visit during weekdays breakfast to enjoy a good peaceful dimsum.
Here are some of my favourite dishes: Fried prawn dumpling ā Super crispy with lots of juicy prawn inside. So tasty! Curry fish balls ā Reminds me of Hong Kong street food. Nice flavour, a bit spicy. Siew mai ā Really good. Full of meat and has a nice chewy texture. Prawn siew mai ā Even better! Packed with prawns and very flavourful. Xiao long bao ā Decent. Not the best Iāve had, but still good for this place. 6.Lo mai kai (glutinous rice with chicken) ā A bit salty but still okay. Chicken feet ā Very soft and tender, slightly chewy. Loved this. Har gao (prawn dumpling) ā Not bad at all. Prawns were fresh. Durian mochi ā I donāt eat durian, but my family loves it. They always dabao extra home. I didn't get the egg tart photo cause when it arrived it was gone in seconds. It's also our favourite! The egg tart is slightly crispy and soft on the inside. Really good. The fried pork buns are really good as well. If you you've tried tim ho wan friend pork buns you'll like this as well. The beef ball wasn't to my liking but my brother said it was good. The fu zuk ( soft tofu skin) was very soft and the beef ball didnt have a very strong beefy taste. Their pork ribs are also very delicious. Soft, juicy and tender!
Do give it a try if you crave for dimsum in Perth. Itās popular, so expect a long queue on weekend mornings. On weekdays, itās usually easier to get a seat during breakfast or lunch.
Most of the waiters/ waitresses do speak mandarin...
