Like many others who have given bad reviews here, I had the same experience. I came here with my boyfriend and the woman who we first encountered that took our seat looked like she wished we hadn’t arrived. This was our first time (in Buenos Aires!!) so we didn’t know this restaurant even had a system. She sits us down and tells us we have to leave in an hour (it was 7pm) because dinner was starting at 8pm and it was for reservation only.
First off, as tourists, I can’t ring Argentinian phone numbers which seems like the only way to make a reservation as i couldn’t find a link. Then, when we were ready to order, our other server informs us that we can only order from 5 menu items (from a 14 page menu!!) because of the time. Since we were starving, we chose to stick out this dissatisfying experience and order anyway. The server gentleman brought us drinks and in his quick order taking and lack of patience, left us waiting with a capped bottle of water, no glasses to drink from, and no bottle opener. About 10 mins later, we had to ask another very kind server to help us open it.
Finally, we get our food and I’ll be honest it was delicious— which is why I bumped up this review to 2 stars instead of 1.
This restaurant seemed a bit pretentious, and although aesthetically pleasing, the employees make it feel like a cold, mean place. We won’t be back unfortunately.
Also, the whole “menu until a certain time” and “must make a reservation” is not clear to people so it would be nice to see a notice on the FIRST page of the menu so...
Read moreThe food is good. It's a good option for vegetarians or for desserts or meriendas. I'm rating it 2 stars because the experience is never good. I've been here about 10 times, today probably marks my last time. When you seat outside, you get virtually no service. When you want to seat inside, even when the restaurant is empty, they treat you like they are doing you a favor by selling you food. They have strict restrictions on where you can seat depending on your party size and time of the day, and sometimes they even refuse service if you are not going to consume beyond a certain threshold. Like if you just come for coffee and a snack and it's approaching lunch or dinner time, they'll turn you away or make you feel uncomfortable staying. It feels like communist Russia when consumer goods were scarce and the retailer had the upper hand. I understand sales optimization, but they take it to such an extreme that it makes you uncomfortable. Optimization should always be transparent to the customer. I'm attaching of a picture of the restaurant right now. They still asked me 5 questions to qualify seating on a 2-top being...
Read moreFirst time visiting this restaurant. I checked online if we could make a reservation but there was no mention about this. We got there a few minutes before it opened, waiters were arranging outdoor tables and working inside. We sat outside at a table that had no reservation sign. A waiter approached us , his attitude was not good at all, I felt like leaving but we were meeting other people. He said we could not eat without reservation, that they were not open and we had to wait and that we'd better put our names in a list inside... We go to the counter, a very nice man explains to me that we can always call to make a reservation and that he has a table available and we can sit down right away even though we were told we couldn't. Service was patchy. Place is nice, a bit noisy upstairs. Outdoor seating available. Bathrooms are located upstairs. The food was good. I believe first impressions make an impact, that waiter, the one that approached us first, made us feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable. Will we go back? I do not think so. There are multiple vegetarian and vegan options...
