The staff try very hard though there are not enough of them, just two for many tables. They were very kind but extremely busy so the service was slow.
The BBQ was recommended by the waiter but we were not that hungry so had other items. Perhaps that was a mistake. Our party of six had... ravioli...very good Cesar Salads, came with chicken...big & ok. Pear & Gorgonzola salad...very good, thanks to the poached pears, cheese & baby greens. chorizo sausage...just one only, good & served with a tasty garlic, vinegar & spicy relish. -beef intestines in pomegranate sauce...crispy & delicious.
Due to the lack of wait staff it took a long time for us to be asked for our drink order, then a long time for the drinks to be delivered. The same thing for the second round.
The restaurant is in a historic home so doesn't have air conditioning, which is understandable. We were there in early February on a very hot day so sat inside with the floor fans. That is a shame because the courtyard is gorgeous, but it was just too hot outside at 6pm.
Affordable, ~$80 Cdn for six people with wine & beer. Not huge portions of the above items. The salads & chorizo were appetizers. Needs more staff even on a Wednesday in February. Open all day & late into the evening. We did not see a bar, just the upstairs & courtyard...
Read moreWorst food I’ve had in Buenos Aires! I suppose it’s just a place to go get some photos, and leave. We went yesterday and wanted to actually eat and have a drink, but it was a total waste of time. Tables were dirty, waiters took very long to come, clean and take our order. I ordered an Aperol Spritz, and it tasted so weird and off I literally couldn’t drink it. Then after a very long wait, came the food. We ordered the “chef’s suggestion” Bife de Chorizo, the meat was so hard it was tough to cut with the knife, they added a sauce to it that was pretty bad and ruined the taste of the meat. As a side we got the Zucchini mix veggies dish, it was also very bad and tasteless. We couldn’t eat anything, we stood up, paid for food we didn’t eat, and left… 2 people seating next to us, also left their full dishes on the table and we overheard them complaining about how bad the food was. I wish we could’ve been warned by them before ordering our dishes. The servers seem overwhelmed by the amount of tables they have, they were nice, but certainly not fast or too attentive, seems they need more staff to handle the demand, and an urgent change of whoever is their Chef. I guarantee that people who were here yesterday and actually ordered food, won’t come back here again too easily, at least definitely not...
Read moreOverall, this place is popular because of tiktok fame. Came here to see what the fuss was about. It's okay. The wait for getting a seat with a view outside is over an hour. So we decided to eat inside. It's alright. The walls are definitely dirty, and there were bulbs and wires exposed in several places. And the stairs were cracked in various places too. I guess they are going for the authentic "this is old" look.
The service itself wasn't that great. The wait was VERY long. We were seated and literally waited 15 minutes before they came to take our order. We ordered empandas as a starter, and they were good, but if you ask me how long it took to get that plate, it was over 40 minutes for two empanadas. From there, it was another 20 minutes to get our pasta order. Ravioli was good, not an amazing dish. Big portions though.
This place is okay. Yes, it was a convent before. I'd say it's good for a picture or two and I'd say "a quick bite", but nothing about that place was quick. In total we spent 2 hours there. Would I go back,...
