I went back tonight to Basa for a 'final Buenos Aires dinner' with my mother as in my past experience I gave this place a five-star review and thought it would be a great last meal. I have to amend my review now due to the awful service. Firstly, the food was excellent - I feel bad for the chef that his superb efforts were destroyed by the most off-hand and snotty waiter I have come across in BA, if not the world. We didn't order any water which seemed to offend him, and when we asked for a few extra minutes to decide what we wanted to order he snorted as if it was a waste of his time. My table located right next to the cellar right underneath the upper level of tables, where it slipped from one of the guests hands. It was scary, as it was very loud. Dinner was completely ruined. As it comes to safety first - the restaurant failed. I’m sure this type of incidents happened before, however, the restaurant must be able to prevent it from happening to ensure safety of the guests. Steak was tender but a little too salty, I didn’t finish it. They gave my 15% discount for a knife that nearly missed hitting my head. Very disappointing for a restaurant with one...
Read moreWe stopped into Basa for dinner to try out a new restaurant. The atmosphere is awesome and very contemporary and moody. You walk down into the restaurant and the bar is at the back which you are attracted to with how nice the lighting is on it. The drinks were fantastic, food was ok and the service was exception (which is not always the case in BA) we were beside our selves with how helpful the staff was with correcting an order to avoid allium. We will certainly be back the next time...
